Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
~~~JOSHUA 1:8-9
Oh, I know how a cat hates to see you paying attention to something that is just a bunch of papers glued together, and no fur at all! I was so touched to see one of those picture because I have that same set of Junior Classic books! My dear father found them for me many years ago, one by one, when he would visit thrift shops and search their books. He adored books, but we didn't have money for new ones. The set belongs to my daughter now. Thanks for sharing your wonderful book pictures :)
ReplyDeleteDear Debbie, it was impossible for me to read your loving words and not want to read more. Thank-you for dropping by and introducing yourself to me. I had only a moment this morning to add you to my list.. I didn't want to lose you. Bless you dear, I see in your such a special gift. Cindy
ReplyDeletei think the scripture at the end of this post was so fitting!
ReplyDeleteI guess the cat is a real live kitty. At first I thought he/she was ceramic. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI know I'm supposed to be looking at your books, but I love that angel lamp. laurie
ReplyDeleteHey, Debbie. Just responding to your latest comment on my blog. Camden, Arkansas, where I grew up, is about an hour from Malvern. The name Al Ragan is not familiar; however, my husband's aunt (his mother's sister) and uncle (deceased) are from Malvern. His aunt is Blanche Clem. His uncle had a bottling company in Malvern for years, Clem's Bottling Co. The manufactured and bottled soft drinks, Clem's Cola and R-Pep.
ReplyDeleteI just can't get into reading books. It has to be a magazine or a blog to get my interest.
ReplyDeleteDebbie - thanks so much for the prayers for my family! They are so appreciated!
ReplyDeleteAlso, we rarely have the garage door open as our camper is in there and our cars have to stay outside. We live in a small, rural subdivision, so no through traffic. That said, I am not taking any chances, and now locking the freezers!
A number of years ago, when we lived in a more urban area, I had a few things hanging out on a clothesline in the back yard. Someone stole my favorite jeans and a Bloomies (Bloomingdales) tee shirt I bought on a trip to NY. While I hated losing them, I just figured someone else needed them more, and asked the Lord to bless them!!!
Thanks again! Becky
Hi Debbie! Thanks for your comment--I really missed being a part of WW, but the post I did yesterday honored so many folks, I wanted it to be up for more than a day. I thought about using the last photo (Stella with the cook books) as a WW post (that was all an accident that I used the Truman recipe books as a part of the post and it was the THEME for WW), but then I still wanted the original post to be up.
ReplyDeleteI'll see you guys next week!!
I loved the Victorian Ladies book. In the town where I attended HS, there were/are lots of those homes--most have been restored now!
Your kitty does look adorable on that table!!
Have a great WW!! Dana
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the sweet comment you left on my blog! I don't know what I'd do without the Word! It's definitely the best book!
I love the verse at the bottom of your post--I learned it in song form when I was in elementary school and it has stuck with me ever since!
Hi Deb, I've been out for awhile, but I have been reading what everyone is doing. I've had acute bronchitis,sooooooooo having said that I've been in bed mostly ,the up side is I get alot of quite time with MY DADDY GOD. Sometimes even the things the enemy may through at us God will use to draw us near. There is a scripture that says " To a hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet " Proverbs 27:7. So for me even though this has had me in the bed, it's o.k. I've had GOOD company. And I know whose I am!!! I'm standing on his word and trusting in His hand. I'll be back soon!!!I better go this is sounding like a blog post.Just wanted to let you know what was going on. But most of all to thank-you for stopping by and leaving such sweet comments. I'll be talking to you soon!!!! Blessing to you sweet friend, Deborah
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
You have a wonderful blog. I read through several of your posts and really enjoyed them. Blogland is a great place to meet new friends and get to know people, and it is also a challenge to learn new things.
Dear dear Debbie, I awoke and read your comment, I was so touched, you somehow reached deep inside of me and "knew" me even though we have only exchanged a few words. Oh my goodness what a blessing you are to those who have been fortunate enough to find you. My prayers are for you dear heart, that God continues to bless your loving, gentle spirit and continues to fill your world with joy too. Cindy
ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie for your kind words of encouragement. I especially appreciate your prayers, for me and my Project Friday. I had been wanting to do this for a long time but just never found the time. I have had so many responded to this Project, I'll be tickled if I have just one. I don't know the Mermaids, A few weeks ago they ask me to exchange blog address with them and put them on my blog. They seem so sweet and all three of them are beautiful. I'm so honored to have you participate. Rememeber your project can be about anything and a simple one at that. Laaawww I have so project going I can't figure out which one to post. I think "Project Friday" is gonna be wonderful. Hugs, Rosemarie
