IT'S PINK SATURDAY TIME

IT IS PINK SATURDAY TIME AGAIN. PLEASE VISIT OUR LOVELY HOSTESS, BEVERLY,
AND THEN VISIT ALL THE OTHER PINK SATURDAY BLOGS. IT IS A LOT OF FUN.
BEFORE I SHOW MY PINK SATURDAY POST, I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR ALL THE
PRAYERS FOR AMY AND HER FRIEND LEILA. ON MONDAY, AMY STARTED HER
FIRST BIG ROUND OF CHEMO AGAIN SINCE THE SURGERY WAS CANCELLED. IT HAS
LEFT HER WEAKER THAN SHE HAS BEEN IN A LONG TIME. LEILA CAME TO TOWN TO
GO SHOPPING AND OUT TO LUNCH AND STOPPED BY TO SEE AMY FOR 20 MINUTES.
IT MADE AMY FEEL A LITTLE BETTER AS SHE HAD SPENT 3 WEEKS AT LEILA'S
HOUSE, AND WENT TO TEXAS WITH LEILA. LEILA, PRAISE THE LORD
IS DOING GREAT AND IS BACK TO DRIVING AND DOING WHAT SHE DOES BEST,
"SHOPPING."
THE ABOVE PHOTO IS A PICTURE OF OUR CRAZY LIFE.
YOU CAN'T SEE THE CALENDAR REAL CLOSE BUT IT IS AN AGENDA OF AMY'S LIFE
DAY BY DAY...IT IS A PLAY BOOK. IT IS A PICTURE OF HER NEUPOGEN AND NEUMEGA
SHOTS THAT I GIVE HER EVERY DAY FOR 5 DAYS. THE NEUPOGEN INJECTION
CONSISTS OF TWO BOTTLES EACH DAY IN ONE INJECTION. THE NEUMEGA IS ONE
INJECTION FOR 5 DAYS. THE MEDICINE MUST BE KEPT IN THE ICEBOX.
DR. DEXEUS TOLD AMY TODAY, TO HANG IN THERE AS SHE LOOKED VERY TIRED.
SHE DOES...SHE IS JUST SO WEAK.
MONDAY SHE GOES FOR A CT SCAN OF HER NECK AND CHEST (again) AND ON TUESDAY
SHE GETS ERBITUX AGAIN. SHE REALLY NEEDS YOUR PRAYERS THIS WEEK AND
NEXT....AND I THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THEM. PLEASE PRAY THAT LEILA
CONTINUES TO DO GREAT.
AMY AND LEILA HAD A BOX COME TO THEM FROM A SECRET PERSON. AMY
WAS SO VERY EXCITED AND TOLD LEILA ALL ABOUT IT....I WILL TELL YOU MORE
ABOUT IT ON MONDAY BUT I HAPPEN TO KNOW WHO THE SECRET PERSON IS AND
I LOVE HER VERY MUCH AS WELL AS A WHOLE LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE LOVE HER
ALSO...SHE IS AN ANGEL IN DISGUISE.

YOU CAN SEE MY NEIGHBOR'S BIG RED PICK UP HOOD LEANING AGAINST HIS
HOUSE IN EVERY PICTURE I TAKE OF MY FRONT FLOWER BED....I HAVE BEEN THINKING
ABOUT COVERING IT UP IN A PINK ROSE SHEET WHEN I GO OUT TO TAKE PHOTOS.
THIS IS MY PINK PETUNIA'S. THEY ARE THE SMALLER PINK PETUNIA'S....MY
HUSBAND HATES THE SMELL BUT I LOVE THEM.

I HAVE BEEN AFRAID EVEN THOUGH WE WATER THEM TWICE A DAY THE HEAT WAS
GOING TO FRY THEM. I REMOVE THE DEAD BLOOMS SEVERAL TIMES A DAY, ALSO.
THE LITTLE FROG SETTING ON A FLAG WAS GIVEN TO ME BY MY SISTER SEVERAL
YEARS AGO.

THIS BEAUTIFUL FLOWER IS NOT MINE BUT I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE SOME.

I FOUND THIS PICTURE AT: http://viennadaily.gmirage.com

THE PHOTOGRAPHER CALLED THESE ROSE PAQUERETTES OR PINK DAISIES.

THIS BEAUTIFUL LILY PICTURE WAS SENT TO ME IN AN E-MAIL.
IT IS SO VERY BEAUTIFUL.

THANK YOU FOR JOINING ME FOR PINK SATURDAY. YOUR FRIENDSHIP IS
SO TREASURED BY ME AND I SO ENJOY PINK SATURDAY. THANK YOU TO EACH ONE
OF YOU THAT HAVE WELCOMED MY SISTER TO BLOG LAND. IT WAS SO VERY SWEET OF YOU
AND I JUST TREASURE YOU ALL THE MORE FOR DOING SO.
IN CASE YOU DON'T KNOW, SHE WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN PINK SATURDAY AND
HER BEAUTIFUL BLOG IS:
YOU ARE THE GREATEST
THANK YOU FOR VISITING "THERE'S AN ANGEL ON MY FRONT PORCH."
IN JUST 7 POSTS IT WILL BE MY 100TH POST....WATCH FOR SOME NEWS.

  1. Good Morning Sweet Sister!
I was happy and sad to see your post today. Sad as I know that you are tired and weary and need some rest. Happy that you have this wonderful place to go and get away from all of the bustle of things, and you have so many wonderful friends that touch your life everyday here on your BLOG. Thank you for being my sister. I love you so very much and miss you. With the BLOG I feel like we are seeing each other every day. We are twins, we were just born 2 years apart. I love you, Your Sis, Sherry

  7. Thank you for your comments on my blog. I really appreciate it.
Prayers for a speedy recovery for Leila.
What beautiful flowers that you have shared with us. Thank you for showing us some of the beauty in the world that we may have never seen before.

Happy Father's Day to all those Dad's, grandpa's hubby's, and sons in your life. Whether they are a father yet or not.... may they someday know the joy they feel when they hold that child in their arms and feel that unconditional love. Just like we feel when we go to the Heavenly Father.

  11. I love the smell of Petunias too. It always brings back memories of going to my grandmother's house in Oklahoma when I was a kid. She always had them planted around her house. They don't do so well here in AZ. It gets too hot for them in the summer. I came here from a link sent to me by your sister who lives in Arizona now. I'm glad to find you. Always nice to meet other people from Oklahoma.
    Happy Pink Saturday.

  17. Halloo debbie...enjoying your bee-yoo-tee-full Pink Saturday post...That little funny pink flower looks very European, doesn't it? It is so beautiful it doesn't look real and I'd love to have that plant at my house, if it would grow out here...

That chemo, I am so sorry that it has weakened Amy so bad, I hope that it weakened the cancer so much more and it will see that it picked on a Fighter that is going to send it packing and so it had better just leave NOW...

My thoughts and prayers surely do go out to Amy most especially now and the upcoming week.

I had to laugh in the midst of sadness about that red hood propped against your neighbor's place, Little Red Truck-Riding Hood, I guess it is, I do laugh because a long time ago one of my uncles left a hood propped against their garage so long it finally became "vintage" and my aunt gave up and planted a little flower bed around it.

  20. Hello Debbie!

Thank you for coming by my blog Sweeterliving today! I so appreciated your sweet comment. I was excited to see that you are from Oklahoma. My husband and I lived in Tulsa from 1998 to 2003. It was a wonderful period of our lives and we still love the US.

Have a very happy pink Saturday and a blessed Sunday too.

  23. Hello Debbie.

My heart just hurts to see all of those meds lined up and that calendar so full of your daily health reminders. Please know that I, too, (along with sooo many of your blog friends) have you and Amy in my prayers--of course Lelia too.

Your petunias are beautiful. I know what you mean about red trucks (hoods). We have neighbors on each side--each with a big ol truck--that always seem to be right in my photographic "line of fire" when I'm outside clicking photos for a post. Honestly, I wouldn't have seen the one in your photo if you hadn't pointed it out--I was focusing on your beautiful flowers.

Hope your family enjoys a lovely Fathers Day!! Dana

  25. HI DEBBIE!!!
Thank you for visiting my blog and it would be an honor to follow yours. I will be praying for your Precious daughter amy and her friend, God Bless you, as a Mother, I don't know how you get throught he day. My heart aches for your pain. I will pray for joy and laughter in your daughter's life right now. Laughing is the best medicine, when my cousin Cindy was in the hospital with terminal cancer, I went to Indiana to visit her and could not wait and try and cheer her up, not able to attend the reunion that year, I thought let's bring the reunion to her, and we laughed and played Musical knee, all the boys are chairs(knees) girls go around and find a knee, she thought that was jsut hilarious!!!
God Bless you and your family
    love,
    jamie

  26. Hi Debbie! Good Sunday Morning to you! I love all the pink flowers.. but I must say I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the patriotic rooster!! The women in my family have been collecting roosters for generations now! My own collection is still fairly small, but I love them, and always keep a watchful eye open for any new ones! I have to run and get ready for work this morning, but I will be sure to include Amy in my prayers! God bless her and watch over her.. and of course, you be sure to take care of you too!

  30. It is soooo nice meeting you, sugar. First time I've visited you and didn't even think about putting "followers" on my blog but since you mentioned it I've added it to my sidebar. So "follow" me if you wish, chickee.

I can't explain why but when I read the quote on your sidebar about "let not your heart be troubled" I just started bawling! I've heard it many times in church but it just hit me today for some reason. It is heartening to me when I come across other Christians because we're so "put down" in today's world, but I shall remain faithful to the end.

If you get a chance, go back and read some of my other posts and get to know me better. I'm going to do it to yours.

I'm very sorry for your daughter's cancer but she seems positive about it and it CAN be beaten.

Now, I'm off to visit with your sister since I now know your mother and her rock garden, ssweetpea. ;-)

    xoxo,
    Connie

You didn't know this, but my best friend conquered a neck cancer this year (after a year of treatments). She is the sweetest! and I am so happy for her.

Caught up on your Father's Day post, too.
