I added the mailing label to my Journal. It was so pretty.

THE BEAUTIFUL COLLAGE I WON. MY PHOTOGRAPH DOES NOT DO IT JUSTICE.

I didn't get to visit in person with "Rebecca Woodward" for Pink Saturday but I

was able to hold her beautiful artistic work in my hands.

Back on February 17, 2009 I was the second place winner in a drawing over at

~JUST GIDDY'S~ Blog. I was so blessed. First I won over at ~MICHELLE

PARKER'S~ Blog and then "REBECCA WOODWARD". I was truly BLESSED. Two

beautiful artists inside and out, and prior to this I remained an non-winner of a

drawing. I truly did do my Happy Jiggle.

The package was in the mail box and we checked our mail quite late so we were

not able to take a picture of Dear Angel holding the package......

but she guarded the mail box until we checked our

mail.

OH REBECCA! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I am sending you my hugs until you

receive my THANK YOU! Your collage is amazing and I know that I know God

intended me to have it because my ~heart~ is for The Broken Hearted and the

A TRIP WITH DADDY

Yesterday I had the honor to ride with my Daddy to Oklahoma City to go to the huge VA Clinic.

If you have never been to the Veterans Clinic...you should really find someone who is going and make the trip with them.

It is an awesome experience of how our "HEROES" return from fighting for our ~freedom. I came away with a collage of different haunting eyes that each told a story of survival. Some of the eyes were full of pain, some had rage, and some were numbed long ago by substance abuse.

Even so each one told their own story of survival...of coping the best they could. Some without a limb...some on crutches...many in wheel chairs with oxygen...all making their way down long corridors that all look alike and people rushing too and fro. It was like being in a little mini city.

In my case Daddy had been there many, many times and he knew right where to go. Our purpose for the trip there was to be fitted for a new pair of diabetic shoes. You can have 2 pair a year and Daddy had worn the pair he had on for two years.

Daddy is legally deaf as a result of artillery fire from the Korean War. Mother had to work yesterday and so I went with Daddy. He needs someone to help communicate for him...He can read our lips but not strangers....but sometimes he can catch every other word. I know when he doesn't understand because he will say, "Yeah," and shake his head and he didn't understand a word anyone said.

He received his shoes. They went up a 1/2 size because the other pair showed signs of his toe being right up against the toe of the shoe...that is not good!

We had a nice lunch on the way home and I could not get the camera out of my purse in time,to photograph about 30 beautiful turkeys that ran out out in front of us.

Thank You as always for spending a part of your valuable day with me. I appreciate you.

Blessings

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY

THANK YOU FOR JOINING ME FOR ANOTHER BEVERLY'S PINK SATURDAY.
BEVERLY IS OUR SWEET HOSTESS AND DOES A WONDERFUL JOB COORDINATING OVER 150 PLUS BLOGS. PLEASE VISIT BEVERLY'S BLOG, HOW SWEET THE SOUND BY CLICKING ONTO HER BUTTON IN MY RIGHT HAND COLUMN.

THERE YOU WILL FIND THE LIST OF ALL THE BEAUTIFUL WOMEN BLOGGER'S WHO ARE PARTICIPATING IN BEVERLY'S PINK SATURDAY. BE SURE AND TELL BEVERLY HELLO AND ENCOURAGE HER FOR DOING SUCH A WONDERFUL JOB.
This is a beautiful Mothers' Day card my daughter gave me 4 years ago. I love it and I keep it out on my desk.

This is one of my beautiful pink rose pins...it is heavy so it needs to be on a jacket collar or I have pinned it to a purse and one time to a decorative pillow.....

the little angel is an ornament ready for Easter

A beautiful Valentines Day Card sent to me by my dear friend Robbi

My Vintage Teapot wall pocket...the pink is a soft pink

A close-up of the vintage teapot wall pocket

This is the back of the little teapot wall pocket

This was a beautiful birthday gift from my daughter two years ago. I just didn't have the heart to take it out of the package yet.....it has an address book and a memo book and those hi-heels are to sing a song for. The pink is such a pretty pink...I love pink and black together.

It is kind of blurry but this is my daughter when she was almost 5 years old at her second dance recital. Her costume was a beautiful shade of pink with black lace....this was for her tap dance number.

This is my little "mascot" that once again has to check out the props before they are used. Andy Pandy is my little assistant that no matter what I do...he is right there...ready to help...this time he had to make sure there was nothing in the little teacup for him to drink.THIS IS MY TAGGED PICTURE.........SEE BELOW PICTURE WHO TAGGED ME

XASHEE'S CORNER tagged me. The rules were to go to the sixth file in My Pictures and then pick the sixth picture and post it.

The sixth picture was the picture of my potato, which, when pulled out of the potato bag was shaped like a heart. I thought that was neat...and then my silly brain got to thinking would it not be cute to produce a heart potato that every single one would grow in the shape of a heart.

My next instruction was to pick out 6 people to tag.

I tagged the following people..wonderful, sweet...people

Thank You so very much for joining me for HAPPY PINK SATURDAY.

Once again my deep thanks to BEVERLY, our lovely Hostess for PINK SATURDAY.

THINGS WERE HARD FOR THE LINCOLN'S...

WHEN THEIR FIRST SON, ROBERT WAS BORN ON AUGUST 1, 1843, THE LINCOLNS LIVED IN THE GLOBE TAVERN. THIS WAS UNSUITABLE PLACE FOR A COUPLE WITH A BABY.

THE LINCOLNS MOVED IN THE FALL TO A FRAME COTTAGE AT 214 SOUTH FOURTH STREET.

IN 1844 THE COUPLE PURCHASED A HOME FROM DR. CHARLES DRESSER, THE EPISCOPAL MINISTER WHO MARRIED THEM. THIS WAS THE LAST HOUSE THEY EVER OWNED.

I WONDER IF THEY LIKED SHABBY CHIC....PROBABLY NOT!

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY: "Cherry Chip Cupcakes with PINK Icing and Chicken Pox

Today" PINK SATURDAY" is rather unique because it is also Valentine's Day. Please visit our lovely hostess Beverly by clicking on the Pink Saturday Button in the right hand column.

Beverly's blog is called HOW SWEET THE SOUND. There you will find the list of all the awesome women that participate in PINK SATURDAY. The list is always over a 100 women.

It is a great way to meet new friends, and we would love for you to join.

Beverly, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO YOU. You are a wonderful Hostess.

Amy was in kindergarten. It was the class party. She wanted me to bring 48 cherry chip cup cakes to the class party. Not just 48 cherry chip cup cakes but they had to have PINK icing.

I was working as a nurse at the time and did not get off work until 7:00 pm.

We had gone to the store the night before and found everything we needed. As I came in the door from work, she was ready to get started. Amy got busy doing her Valentines Day cards. Even at that early age she was very artistic.

I had gotten the batter, the eggs, oil, everything in the bowl...ready for the mixer.

Now let me kinda set up the scene.....at the time we lived in a mobile home and the heat and air conditioning ducts were, for the kitchen anyway, right in the floor under the table where I would be mixing up the cherry chip cup cake mix.....I thought you might get the picture....yup......

I began to mix and turn the bowl...Amy wanted to stir the batter....I told her it was getting late and she needed to finish all her little valentines...."please mother, please," she pleaded with big blue eyes. I had a weakness to "her", the word "please", and her "blue eyes."

I went over the safety rules and then was holding onto her hand as we mixed. She giggled and was having such fun and said, "let me do it by myself. I'll hold it tight."I let go just briefly and I turned ever so quickly to pick up a spoon and I heard her scream and out of the corner of my eye, time stood still as I saw the bowl fly, and our cherry chip cup cake batter was now draining into the central heat floor vent. I could not believe my eyes or the look on Amy's face. I didn't know whether to scream or laugh.

What a mess that was to get out of the duct in the floor. At the time we were living in the town El Reno. Our grocery store closed at 6:00 pm....it was 10:15pm. Amy began to cry. Everyone would be mad at her for not bringing cherry chip cup cakes with PINK icing. The closest town that had a 24 hour store was Yukon...about ten miles away.

As the story goes...I made it to Yukon....they had 4 boxes of cherry chip cup cake mixes...I bought all four boxes and two more of PINK icing.

I got all 54 cherry chip cup cakes baked, iced and in a pretty decorated box by 12 midnight.

Amy had fallen asleep on the couch with her daddy. I went to put her night gown on and she felt very hot and she had 6 little bumps on the front of her chest.

By 5:00pm she was scratching every where. She had the chicken pox. Her daddy took the 48 cherry chip cup cakes with PINK icing to school and Amy and I spent the day counting the chicken pox as they popped out onto her skin. When school was over her teacher brought all her valentines to the house and all the other goodies from the party. We gave her the additional 6 cherry chip cupcakes with PINK icing to take home to her family. She drank a cup of tea and watched Amy itch and listened to me tell the story of the previous nights events.

Amy's best friend today lives in a mobile home. Amy went down to her house last night to make cup cakes for a party at her work. Amy began to laugh and told her the story. I call Amy my cup cake girl because she has always loved to bake and decorate cup cakes for any occasion and take them to friends and family.

Thank You for spending a part of your Valentines Day with me. I want to wish each and every one of you a HAPPY PINK SATURDAY and a HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

May you feel the love of a friend, mother, daddy, sister, brother, husband, wife, child, aunt, uncle, a kitty or a dog, and fore most may you know and feel the love of GOD.

If you are at odds with someone there is no greater time than to reach out and let this person know how important they are to you. The recent plane crash that just took the life of 50 beautiful souls show us how fragile life is. Yes, Valentines Day is for lovers but it is also to let people not our spouses or boy friends and girlfriends to know they are loved and they are valuable.

I have enjoyed so very much getting to know each one of you. You are so unique, so funny, so charming and beautiful. So full of Faith. I look forward to visiting with each one of you every day.

MY LIFE IS SO ENRICHED BECAUSE OF EACH AND EVERY ONE OF "YOU!"

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!! HAPPY PINK SATURDAY!!!!!!
