A VISIT FROM ~ROSIE

LEILA, AMY'S BEST FRIEND CAME TO SEE HER TODAY. THE POSTMAN CAUGHT

MY HUSBAND OUTSIDE AND GAVE HIM TWO PACKAGES. I ASK MY DH IF HE CHECKED

THE MAILBOX.......LEILA AND MY DH CHIMED IN, "THE MAILMAN BROUGHT TWO

PACKAGES TO THE DOOR!" I SAID, "I KNOW THAT, BUT SOMETIMES HE DELIVERS

THE PACKAGES AND THEN BRINGS THE MAIL LATER. BESIDES, I KNOW MY

BLOGGY FRIENDS, AND SHERRY'S BLOGGY FRIENDS AND THEY ARE SENDING

CARDS TO AMY!"

MY HUSBAND CHECKED THE MAILBOX AND BOY, YOU SHOULD HAVE SAW THE

SHOCK AND DELIGHT ON MY BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER'S FACE AND SHERRY'S

DARLING NIECES FACE WHEN THERE WERE...........DRUM ROLL PLEASE..........

~THIRTY TWO CARDS!!!!!!!!!!

~THIRTY TWO CARDS!!!!!!!!!!

YOU BEAUTIFUL LADIES AND OUR BILL, THE ONE GENTLEMAN.......ARE AWESOME!

YOU BROUGHT SUNSHINE TO AMY THIS FRIDAY AFTERNOON. MY MOTHER/

AMY'S GRANNY CAME OVER AND WATCHED HER OPEN THE TREASURES SHE

RECEIVED AND NOT ONE SINGLE CARD WAS ALIKE.......IT AMAZES ME HOW

MANY DIFFERENT CARDS THERE ARE.

I HAVE ALWAYS HAD A LITTLE CARD MINISTRY WHERE I SENT CARDS TO

SHUT-INS AND CHRONICALLY ILL, THOSE BATTLING DEPRESSION AND NEVER

UNTIL TODAY....."THE LIGHT CAME ON".....HOW VERY HAPPY IT MAKES

SOMEONE TO RECEIVE SUCH SUNSHINE. I CRY THINKING HOW VERY HAPPY

IT MADE AMY. AMY IS SO WEAK NOW, I HAVE TO OPEN THE ENVELOPES

UP FOR HER AND HAND HER THE CARD.

IN THE BOX THAT CAME TODAY WAS A SPECIAL LITTLE GIFT TAKING A NAP

IN PINK TISSUE. AS WE OPENED THE PINK TISSUE OUT FLUTTERED ROSIE, THE

GARDEN FAIRY. SHE TOLD US HOW MANY MILES SHE HAD TRAVELED, AFTER

BEING TUCKED IN THE PINK TISSUE LOVINGLY BY LIZZIE. LIZZIE, HER MAKER,

GAVE HER INSTRUCTIONS TO SPRINKLE ROSIE GLITTER OF SUNSHINE RAYS

EVERY TIME A SMILE BEGAN TO FADE FROM AMY'S FACE.

ROSIE TOLD US SO MANY THINGS ABOUT HER BEAUTIFUL OUTFIT MADE FROM

VINTAGE RIBBONS, SILK HAIR, SPARKLY NETTING, AND VINTAGE MILLINERY.
ROSIE IS HANGING FROM THE CHAIN THAT OPERATES THE CEILING FAIN IN
THE LIVING ROOM AND SHE IS BESIDE A BUTTERFLY MY MOTHER BOUGHT
IN THE CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT SECTION AT HOBBY LOBBY.
I JUST WANT TO MENTION THAT DARLING ROSIE WAS SENT BY LIZZIE
I HAD NEVER MET LIZZIE BUT I WENT TO HER BLOGSPOT......THIS IS AN
AWESOME WOMAN WHO IS A SINGLE MOTHER OF 4 AWESOME CHILDREN
AND SHE LIVES IN A 200 YEAR OLD HOUSE IN DENNIS, MA. I WAS NOT ABLE
TO READ ALL HER BLOG BUT SHE IS A BEAUTIFUL ARTIST.
THINGS ARE ROUGH FOR AMY....HER PAIN IS SEVERE....THE DOCTORS DID NOT
TELL US THE TUMOR WOULD CONTINUE TO GET BIGGER AND BIGGER UNTIL HER
NECK COULD OPEN. IT SEEMS TO GET BIGGER AS YOU WATCH IT.......AMY CAN
ONLY LOOK STRAIGHT AHEAD. SHE CAN NOT LOOK TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT AND
HER NECK IS PULLING TO THE LEFT. WE HAVE TO KEEP LOOSENING THE BAND
THAT HOLDS HER TRACH IN PLACE.
SHE IS BEGINNING THE PROCESS OF KEEPING HER EYES SHUT EVEN WHEN SHE
IS AWAKE TO BEGIN THE SEPARATION FROM THOSE SHE LOVES. I HAVE HAD
4 MAJOR PANIC ATTACKS WHERE I HAVE HAD TO TALK TO MYSELF....I
LITERALLY COULD NOT CATCH MY BREATH.
I TELL YOU THAT IT IS AT THESE TIMES YOU REALIZE NO MATERIAL POSSESSION,
NO MATTER RICH OR POOR, LOVED OR UNLOVED, WE ALL WILL FACE THE
VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH. IF YOU HAVE NO SPIRITUAL LIFE, YOU
WILL GET ONE IN A HURRY, IF YOU ARE ALLOWED THE TIME TO GIVE YOUR
HEART TO JESUS. I KNOW TO WHOM MY DAUGHTER HAS GIVEN HER HEART TO
AND WHETHER SHE IS HEALED HERE ON EARTH OR IN HEAVEN.........SHE IS
"HEALED" IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
I TELL YOU FRIENDS THROUGH TEARS AND NAUSEA, IT IS A NEAR IMPOSSIBLE
FEAT TO LET GO OF YOUR CHILD WHEN YOU HAVE NURTURED THEM THROUGH
EVERYTHING AND YOU CAN'T WALK THEM HOME. GOD KNOWS MY HEART AND MY HEART
IS JUST SHATTERED. MY FAITH WILL KEEP IT TOGETHER BUT IT IS NOT ABOUT ME OR MY
DH, OR OUR SON, OR MY SISTER SHERRY.....IT IS ABOUT AMY...AND KEEPING HER PAIN
FREE.
I CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE LADY WHO ASK ABOUT SPLENDA BUT AMY HAS
NEVER HAD ANYTHING WITH SPLENDA, NUTRASWEET, OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT BUT
THANK YOU FOR ASKING.
PRAYER REQUESTS: AMY, LEILA, LADY PENNIWIG'S HUSBAND AND SON, SHERRY'S FOOT,
ASHLEY, BECCA, LADY KATHERINE, MARYDON'S EYE ALLERGIES, HAROLD'S BROTHER AND
HAROLD'S SAFETY WHILE TRAVELING, PATRICIA, AUNT JEAN, MONTE, KIPPIE, DENNIS,
JAY AND SUSAN, BOBBY, ROY AND ELISABETH, BARBARA AND ROY WHILE TRAVELING,
DORIS, RICHARD, JAMIE, TAWNA, MIKE, PEGGY, SALLY, KATHY, ROGER, JESS,
SO MANY, MANY PRAYER REQUESTS MY FRIENDS.
PRAISE REPORT......LEILA WILL BE GOING BACK TO WORK THE FIRST OF OCTOBER. SHE CAN
ONLY WORK 4 HOURS A DAY, AND WILL BE ABLE TO KEEP HER INSURANCE. SHE STILL
HAS A SPOT THEY ARE GOING TO CHECK EVERY THREE MONTHS.
QUEEN MOTHER MAMAW'S DAUGHTER RACHEL IS OR HAS GONE BACK TO WORK AND SHE
WAS VERY, VERY ILL.
THANK YOU SWEET JESUS FOR THESE PRAISE REPORTS INCLUDING THE 32 CARDS THAT
CAME TODAY. WE SAW A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE OF LOUIS, THE CAT.....HE WAS AWESOME.
WE/AMY IS A BIG ANIMAL LOVER AND SHE LOVES HEARING ABOUT YOUR PETS. SHE
LOVES BUTTERFLIES, ANGELS, FLOWERS, FUNNY THINGS, CROSSES, ANYTHING...YOU ALL
HAVE DONE A WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL, AWESOME JOB.
THANK YOU...THANK YOU.....THANK YOU..........
YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN
YOU ARE TRULY ANGELS AND GODS' HANDS EXTENDED

  1. Dear Debbie,
I am happy to hear that Amy had a wonderful "mail call" that brought her some joy! I keep you both and all of your family in my prayers daily and just hope for something to help her more with the pain she is in, it just amazes me the strength she has to keep fighting so hard! I sure can relate to what you said on losing someone and "if you have no spiritual life you will get one in a hurry", that sure is the case alot of times! (( BIG HUGS)) to you and Amy!

  2. Dear Debbie,

My thoughts and prayers are with Amy and your loving family. How hard this must be - I know that Amy's faith is strong and that she is a fighter. She is surrounded by those she loves - and surrounded by love from those of us who are far away. Bless you, my friend, and know that you are in our thoughts all the time. I've sent a card to Amy that should be arriving soon. I am so glad she got all those cards - and knows she is loved.

Our prayers continue for Amy as God's plan unfolds in her life. We pray for God's comfort for you and your family as you walk this path with Amy. Blessings my dear friend, Loretta

  9. Debbie, I suspect that some cards didn't make it there yesterday. Hopefully, there will be more today. (Mail from Ark. is sometimes slow). I loved reading about Amy smiling when the mailbox was full. As always, you, Amy, and the rest of your family are in my prayers. I am so glad that you have God by your side, because I know the strength you have comes from Him. With love, laurie

  12. Oh what a blessing Amy got so many cards and it made her feel so happy. I had such a great time finding a card. My heart and my prayers are with you. I do understand a small part of your pain as I watched my DH lose his beautiful daughter to Cystic Fibrosis just before her 13th birthday. They had been treating this since she was 2 and it was always such a tug at your heart and your faith. I know the Lord is with you, and I know the pain is almost unbearable. God Bless. I will continue to pray. Hugs,Marty

  16. My Dear Sweet Sister,
I so love this post. It is so good for you to be able to let go. You need to do this. This blog is good theraphy for you. Please keep writing when you can, as I know your time is limited, but I also know this is good for you. Each one of us love doing something to help you, along this very heart wrenching journey you are having to take. You remember what I told you that you are not alone, I am right there beside you walking and holding you. Do not be afraid of the dark, as my light is shining on you every second, of every minute, of every day. I love you my sweet precious sister, I so love you.

I am so elated that the mailman put 32 cards in your box. Oh my, love and peace and hope just keep coming. What wonderful prayer warriors we have. Amy's illness has allowed each of us to find each other, a chain of warriors who will forever be connected because of our precious Amy Girl. She works daily from her bed, and doesn't even know it. She will remain alive forever in each of our minds, hearts, blogs and homes.

Hug my Amy Girl and tell her I love her. I know, I tell you that each and every day, but I can't do it myself. I know she knows how very much I love her, and have always loved her, but I just love telling her, and I would be doing so if I were there. All my love precious, precious Debbie, all of it, Your Sister, Sherry

  17. Aunt Debbie, words can not express the thoughts that run through my head on a daily basis of Amy, and the constant prayer for Amy that I say over and over again,
    Proverbs 4:20-22

My child, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.

I love you all, and think of you often, every second of the day. Know this: I have not forgotten you, I will not forget, for I love you all unconditionally, even though times are tough right now, the light at the end of the tunnel will soon shine, we will see Gods hands perform a miracle for sweet Amy. She is the light in the darkness for me and always has been. She will be my angel of God forever. I will never ever loose hope.

    Love always your niece,
    Heidi

  25. Dearest Debbie,
Hello from Kansas. I have been praying for you all. Over the summer I've been reading blogs about your precious daughter Amy and the battle going on in her body. I am terribly sorry that she is so ill. So many are praying and have you all in their thoughts and prayers. May God comfort all of you.

  26. I'm just heartsick. This is just too hard, on Amy, on you. I don't have any happy words at all. I'm glad cards came. Amy matters, her struggle matters, I admire her and am so sorry that she has to battle cancer. You are so good and kind, too, look at you, reaching out to others in the midst of your pain, that's you. I'm just real sad for you and Amy.

  27. Hi Sweet Lady Dear...
Your soul so tired dear Debbie. Perhaps if you are able to get some Clonipin RX(?sp) it is to calm the nerve not to put you to sleep. This you could use to help you manage the difficulty being asked of you not only physically but emote and spirit.
I have PTSD and use it every so often just to be able to remove the pressure off the top. It really can help.

  28. Debbie, please know that our hearts are breaking for you and sweet Amy Dawn. Your words tell us what is happening...it's difficult to accept. Only the Lord Himself can truly know Amy's pain, and your pain...we can only stand beside you in support and prayer that the Lord bring peace and comfort. I am just sitting quietly tonight, praying for you and Amy, praying for rest from the struggle, rest from the pain. Love you, Debbie. Please tell Amy that we all love her so much.

    Mary
