CHILDREN. EVERY DAY AT 1:00PM MY TEACHER WOULD TAKE THE SMALL 5 X 7 "
RED HARDBACK BOOK OUT OF HER DESK AND READ US A CHAPTER. ONLY ONE
CHAPTER.....BUMMER....I LOVED HEARING ABOUT THE BOXCAR CHILDREN. IT TOOK
ME AWAY TO A PLACE OF ADVENTURE, FUN, AND EVEN SECURITY.
THEY HAVE THE MODERN DAY VERSION OF THIS BOOK OUT IN PAPERBACK BUT I
WOULD LOVE TO FIND THE OLD VERSION LIKE WHAT MY TEACHER READ TO ME.
I HAVE ALWAYS READ TO MY CHILDREN AND EVEN IN AMY'S 20'S AND 30'S, I
WOULD COME ACROSS A BOOK I KNEW WE WOULD BOTH LOVE.....NO MATTER HOW
CHILDISH AND SHE WOULD LAY DOWN AND I WOULD READ TO HER....IT HELPED
RELAX HER IF SHE HAD A BAD DAY. I HAVE BEEN READING TO HER EVERY
NIGHT OUT OF A BOOK ANGELS AND MIRACLES. IT IS SO WONDERFUL TO
READ ABOUT MIRACLES. IT REMINDS US THAT GOD IS STILL IN THE MIRACLE
BUSINESS. AMY HAS RECEIVED FIVE MAJOR...BIGGIE...MIRACLES IN HER LIFE.
THIS JOURNEY HAS BEEN A DIFFICULT ONE.........
BUT IT IS NOT ABOUT ME OR MY HUSBAND OR HER BROTHER OR ANY OTHER RELATIVE
OR FRIEND......IT IS ABOUT GOD AND AMY.
FIRST I WANT TO THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS FOR ALL THE
PRAYERS...THE GIFTS...AND ESPECIALLY THE CARDS. WHEN THE MAIL LADY OR
MAN COMES, WE CALL IT MAIL CALL.......HER EYES JUST TWINKLE....SHE LOVES MAIL
CALL SO VERY MUCH. IT MAKES ME CRY WITH SUCH JOY, AS WELL AS MY
HUSBAND, THAT SUCH A WONDERFUL NETWORK OF WOMEN PLUS ONE MAN NAMED
BILL, WOULD TAKE THE TIME TO BRIGHTEN OUR DAUGHTER'S LIFE. YOU WILL
NEVER, EVER KNOW HOW MUCH YOU HAVE TRULY, TRULY BLESSED HER LIFE.
WE HAVE HAVE RECEIVED 37 CARDS AND 1 DOLPHIN POST CARD THAT BROUGHT
A SMILE.
I WANT TO TAKE THE TIME TO PERSONALLY THANK MY SISTER, SHERRY FOR
KEEPING YOU ALL INFORMED ON AMY'S PROGRESS. THERE WERE VERY SCAREY
TIMES, SAD TIMES, FRUSTRATING TIMES, AND THROUGH IT ALL, SHE BLOGGED.
I KNOW IT WAS VERY STRESSFUL ON HER.
I LOVE YOU SHERRY AND THANK YOU.
WE TOOK AMY TO DR. DEXEUS TODAY. SHE WAS JUST SUPPOSE TO HAVE LAB BUT SHE WAS
AND HAS BEEN SO VERY SICK....AND IN TERRIBLE PAIN.
WE/SHE....AMY MADE THE COURAGEOUS DECISION TO BRING IN HOSPICE. SHE DOES
NOT WANT TO GO BACK TO THE HOSPITAL AND THEY WILL KEEP HER COMFORTABLE
AND TRY THINGS THAT WILL HOPEFULLY MAKE HER STRONGER SO SHE CAN
REACH SOME GOALS SHE HAS..............ONE IS A BIG COOK OUT ON FRIDAY
NIGHT SO ALL HER FRIENDS CAN COME TO THE HOUSE AND VISIT WITH HER.
THAT IS NOW THE NUMBER ONE GOAL ON THE LIST........AFTER HOSPICE COMES
TOMORROW, AMY LEILA, AND ME ARE GOING TO MAKE CARDS.
I CANNOT BLOG THE WAY I USE TO.....IT WON'T BE FULL OF PRETTY PICTURES
BECAUSE I JUST DON'T HAVE THE TIME, BUT IF YOU DON'T MIND A BLAND
BLOG.....YOU DESERVE TO KNOW HOW YOUR AMY IS DOING.
AMY'S SPIRITS ARE STRONG AND SHE WAS BOUND AND DETERMINED SHE
WAS GOING TO WALK INTO THE CLINIC TODAY, WITHOUT A WHEELCHAIR.
SHE MADE IT BUT COULD NOT WALK OUT. I AM SO VERY PROUD OF HER.
SHE IS MY HERO. THE NURSES WERE TELLING HER WHAT AN INSPIRATION
SHE HAS BEEN TO STAFF AND PATIENTS OVER THE PAST 15 MONTHS.
THERE ARE VERY MANY PRAYER REQUESTS THAT I NEED TO CATCH UP
ON. I KNOW QUEEN MOTHER MAMAW'S DAUGHTER RACHEL STILL NEEDS
PRAYER, ASHLEY, PATRICIA, JEAN, DORIS'S COUSIN, ELISABETH AND ROY,
TAMMY, JENNIFER AND HER CAT, AN UNNAMED FRIEND, TAWNA, AJ AND
IRENE, MY MOTHER, LELIA AND KORBIE------WHICH LEILA RECEIVED HER LAST
CHEMO TREATMENT LAST WEEK......... AND MANY MORE.
YOU ALL ARE JUST TOO SPECIAL FOR WORDS.
ANGEL HUGS
LOVE

ReplyDeleteMy Dear Sweet Sister:
ReplyDeleteI am so thrilled to see you post a little something. Thrilled to hear about Amy's goals for a cook out on Friday. I did not know about Hospice. Amy always knows the right decisions, and at the right time to make them. I have called the last two days, but did not get an answer. I know you all are resting when you can, and working with Amy always, so I did not panic. Please remind Amy how very much I love her, cherish her and pray for her each and every day. I pray for peace and no pain. She has had so much pain all her earthly life, I pray for her to enjoy some small portion pain free and happy. She has loved life always and made me feel so lucky just to have shared a small piece of that with her. I have always cherished that giggle and her smile that lights up a room. She is the person we should all strive to be like. Thank you for sharing this evening. I have so missed you. I will be in meetings most of tomorrow. Lots of new changes coming at work, some good, some bad. I woke up just now, shaking, my Blood Sugar is 78. Trying to get it back up a little and am heading back to bed. I have to have my wits about me in the morning. I so love you my precious sister. I wish I could be there and hear you read the box car children stories too, as we both so loved those books. All my love, Sherry

My Debbie, the 'bread' that holds everything together like a sandwich ... my heart aches for all of you. I am so proud of Amy to be so strong & make the choices that are right for her. If we all could hold together as has she. It breaks my heart, I cry tears for you my special friend ... I so treasure each of our phone calls that we share in love of our friendship.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful that Amy will have a cookout for her friends to join her.
May God continue to hold you, Richard & Amy up ... I am here with you in spirit ... I wish I could be there in person.
All my love forever sweetie ~ Prayers & love, Peanut Butter/Marydon
Amy inspires me every day. Thank you for updating us. My prayers are with your daughter and with all of you who are on this journey with her. Bless you.
ReplyDeleteDebbie ~ Congratulations to Amy on achieving her goals by walking into the clinic! YOU GO GIRL!!! I'm sure the barbeque will happen. You all have been in my thoughts and prayers.....and continue to be.
ReplyDeletep.s. I loved the Boxcar Children also as a child....my teacher read it to us too! Must be an Okie thing! I thought it would be wonderful to live in that boxcar!
It is so good to get a post from you Debbie. We'll take it in whatever form it comes. You've been missed. Your whole family has been an inspiration and I pray that you find the strength you need in this difficult time. God Bless.
ReplyDeleteI think you and the comments have said it all.
ReplyDeleteYour words are never boring. They are about Amy, and that makes them golden to my eyes.
Yes, this is about Amy. Her fight, her struggle, her path, and God's plans. I knew from some of the quotes from her that she was exceptional and extremely brave, the very first time I read about her. She has faced the second shocking diagnosis of cancer without a bit of self-pity but with a "bring it on" fighting attitude.
Bringing in hospice is extremely brave. I just want everyone to know how brave she is, what strength of mind and faith she has. To know of Amy is to be humbled. What a beautiful girl.
Angels come in many sizes, shapes and spirits. You have them all around you sweet Amy, this I have no doubt. Your family are angels helping the lord when needed, to comfort you and each other, to help ease each others pain, to love each other and be of support. We are all taking this journey together even if thru prayer and good wishes. We are with you in thought and spirit. God Bless each and every one of you, everyday and keep you in love and Gods Goodness. One day at a time, one step at a time. We are here for you even if the miles between us keep us apart, our love is with you all. Char
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I was do glad to see your post. You and Amy are so often in my thoughts and prayers. I know that cookout will be a joyous time for Amy and her buddies. I hope you are resting when you can....Dana
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see you on here today. You have been through a lot; all of you! Hubby and I are still praying for Amy, you, Richard, and the rest of the family. You're all very close in thought. Prayer is the most powerful form of communication there is, and how wonderful to see the body of Christ come together on behalf of you all. That is what the family of God is for. Praise Him!
Blessings and hugs,
Sandi
So glad to hear from you. I'm glad that Amy has goals and is reaching them. I know she will take it one day at a time. Your family is a inspiration to us all. I will pray for all on your list.
ReplyDeleteHugs and prayers,Lisa
Debbie, so happy to hear the news on Amy. Have fun at the cook-out. Irvie and I are praying everyday for Amy. Ever since you said the tumor was the size of an apple. I have been asking God to pick that apple out of her neck and to let the root dry and die. I am excited to hear that Amy was able to walk to the doctor's office. Having visited with you a week ago Saturday I would say that God has given Amy another victory and those little victories produce the faith to win the battle. Keep standing , we are standing with you. In the name of Jesus we just speak, love, joy peace to your home. Hey I love the Boxcar Children books and so does Jennifer I still have about the 1st 27 stories in my book collection and even have number #1 in the hardback but it is in pretty bad shape from many years of children reading it. Love, Suzie
ReplyDeleteDebbie, you are the sweetest one! Sending you big hugs and prayers along with Amy and the family.
ReplyDeleteLove to you...
XO,
Sheila :-)

ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteI dicovered your sister's blog this morning as I was reading another one I visit frequently and felt drawn to her so I clicked over and visited it and read about your precious daughter. My heart does break for all you are going through, and I just wanted to let you know that I will join all the other wonderful friends you have in praying that the Lord will see you through this season in your life. I pray that He will fill you all with His peace that passes all understanding and wrap His mighty arms around you all with His love. I know the Lord lead me to your sister and then to you. We serve an awesome and mighty God. His richest blessings to you all....Debbie
Debbie ~ Thank you so much for stopping by my blog, and for the sweet comment, and especially for your prayers and support for Ovarian Cancer Awareness*! You are going through so much right now. I am so sorry for the way things are going for Amy, but like you said, we're not giving up hope. God is too loving to be cruel, and too wise to make mistakes, so we rest knowing that Amy is in HIS wonderful loving hands. We don't know what the future holds, but we KNOW who holds the future. You're all in my prayers*!

My Dear Sweet Sister:
ReplyDeleteYesterday I left work at 1pm for my Dr. Appt. After being there for almost 2 hours, I had to go to an orthopedic office to be fit for my boot, that was another hour +. Dr. Weiss is in Sun City West so it takes me an hour to get there one way. Heidi had to go pick up her Dad for me. I was late getting home. I didn't hear the phone ring after I got home. So sorry I missed your call sweetie, yesterday was a day of craziness for sure. I pray that everything is okay. Your blog says that you are having a cook out tomorrow. That will be good for all of you. I pray for a beautiful day. I pray Hospice is working out for Amy, and that they are able to help, as I have prayed for help for you. I know we were hoping to put Hospice off as long as possible, but if they can assist with keeping Amy comfortable, we do what we have to do honey. That is what we do. I was so thrilled that she was able to walk into the Dr.s office. What a success! God Bless her little Heart. She has such determination. She is my hero for sure. Be strong my sister. Know that I love you and pray for all of you. We have missed calls the last few days. We will connect soon. I love you and miss you. All my love, Your Little Sister, Sherry
Dearest Debbie, You are all too special and I am so blessed that you and Amy and Sherry have become part of my life. I am delighted for any word from you, and if it is from you it is not bland. My thoughts and prayers for sweet Amy, you, Richard and Richie and of course, Leila, too. Many city hugs across the miles.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I've been checking Sherry's blog every day for updates. I didn't realize you had starting updating again here. I am so glad to come here and find you.
ReplyDeleteMy prayers remain constant for all of you. Please give Amy my love.
