CALLED THE POOREST NATION ON THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE,
HAITI,
HAD A 7.0 MAGNITUDE QUAKE STRIKE SHORTLY BEFORE 5 PM,
TUESDAY, WITH 28 AFTER SHOCKS...MANY AT 5.0.
THERE ARE A LARGE NUMBER OF U.N. PEACEKEEPERS
UNACCOUNTED FOR AFTER DAMAGE TO THEIR BUILDING.
THEY SAID AFTER THE QUAKE, THERE WAS A CLOUD OF
DUST THAT COVERED THE AREA FOR OVER 20 MINUTES.
WITNESSES SAID SCREAMING COULD BE HEARD AND ONE LADY
RAN SCREAMING DOWN THE STREET, "THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END."
ONE MAN TOLD CNN, THAT IT FELT LIKE HIS HOUSE WAS
BALANCING ON A BEACH BALL.
I HAVE LONG PRAYED FOR HAITI. IT HAS A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY
HEART. I KNOW THAT ONLY BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I LIVE HERE
AND NOT THERE.
THE RED CROSS STATES 3 MILLION PEOPLE HAVE BEEN AFFECTED
AND THEY ARE BRACING FOR A HUGE DEATH TOLL.
HAITI IS STILL IN THE PROCESS OF HEALING FROM THE 2009
HURRICANE THAT HIT THERE. 80 % OF THE POPULATION
LIVE BELOW POVERTY LINE, SURVIVING ON A $1.00 A DAY.
MAY GOD'S GRACE AND MERCY TOUCH HAITI AS NEVER
BEFORE. MAY THEY RECEIVE EVERY SUPPLY NEEDED
AND AID ARRIVE QUICKLY AND SAFELY. MAY THEY SEE
THE WORLD SHARES IN THEIR SORROW. MAY AT EVERY
BUILDING THEY COME TO MIRACLES WILL BE FOUND.
WE PRAY FOR MIRACLES LORD. REACH DOWN WITH YOUR
ARMS OF LOVE AND GATHER THEM UP ONE BY ONE AS A HEN
WOULD HER CHICKS.
MY PRAYERS ARE WITH HAITI TODAY AS WELL AS ALL THE
OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE IN NEED OF A MIRACLE
ANGEL HUGS
Hi Debbie, Thank you for your wonderful post, I will be in prayer also. It does appear that there are many signs around of prophesies of end times from the bible, this may be one of them. How rich we are who live in this country and how rich we are for our religious freedoms. Praying for you also. Hugs and blessings.
ReplyDeleteLife is so fragil. We are praying.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post. The amount of damage there is staggering. My prayers are with the people there and I hope there will be many miracles during the search for those still trapped.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Dawn

Prayers from English Cottage have been going up...these poor (truly poor) people have so little to lose, yet have been devastated by nature.
ReplyDeleteDebbie I have a soft spot in my heart for Haiti since we have 2 sister parishes there that I know of. One is in Port au Prince and one in the northern section. I have heard from the one in PAP but not from the other. I have not been there but have many friends who have. We must all pray for them and send all the help we can. Blessings

Yes, Debbie, I'm with you on praying for Haiti today. Untold suffering for these people and their homes and buildings demolished. I will be asking the Lord for miracles also - amazing rescues would be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteBless your sweet heart - I think of you often, Dear One...

Debbie I have been praying and watching CNN ever since this horrible earthquake....these poor, poor people. They have known so much heartache and their burdens are so heavy. We all must do all that we can......:-) Hugs
ReplyDeletePoor Haiti. That place is just beset. I feel for them. It was heartbreaking enough to hear how the poorest of the poor eat dirt "cookies" to try to make it thru the day for them and their kids...these folks need a hand in the best of times...and now more than ever.
ReplyDeleteAmen. God can work miracles, and He can use us to do it.
ReplyDeleteBless you.
Thank you for posting about this devastating disaster. My heart breaks when I think of these poor people dealing with such tragedy. For ways we can all help, check out http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2007/impact/

The director of our Elder Care Program, her husband is serving on a mission team in Hatti right now. As of last night she had not heard from him. We covet all prayers for all those in Hatti during this very difficult time.
