UPDATE ON AMY: SHE DID not RECEIVE CHEMOTHERAPY ON MONDAY.
HER COUNTS WERE TOO LOW AND SO SHE WAS GIVEN A NEUPOGEN INJECTION
AND HER PAIN MEDICATION WAS INCREASED TO EVERY TWO HOURS AND
THEY CAN ADD ANOTHER PAIN MED TO THAT ONE. SHE IS IN SEVERE PAIN
FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE LEFT SIDE OF HER NECK TO ABOVE THE TEMPLE
AREA. I ASK DR. DEXEUS IF THE PAIN WAS FROM RADIATION SCAR TISSUE.
HE SHOOK HIS HEAD NO AND SAID THAT IT WAS CANCER CAUSING THE PAIN,
THAT SCAR TISSUE DOES NOT CAUSE PAIN.......SO, THEY ARE WAITING FOR
DR. MEDINA TO CALL AND SHE ALREADY HAD AN APPOINTMENT THAT THEY
COULD NOT/WOULD NOT CHANGE ON HER 33RD BIRTHDAY...JULY 6, 2009....
DR. DEXEUS HAS REQUESTED THE ARTERIAGRAM BE DONE AND POSSIBLY TAKE
HER ON TO SURGERY THAT NIGHT. IT DEPENDS ON COORDINATING WITH THE
CARDIOVASCULAR SURGEON. THIS IS A VERY CRITICAL TIME FOR AMY. SHE
WEIGHS 83 POUNDS.
WHEN I LEFT AMY'S HOUSE I LOST IT...I AM SORRY BUT I HAD A VERY
BAD 24 HOURS. I FELT LIKE A CAGED LION THAT PROMISED IF I EVER GOT
THROUGH THOSE BARS TRAPPING ME, THERE WOULD BE HELL TO PAY.
I WAS ANGRY AT EVERYONE INCLUDING THE HOT, HUMID AIR I HAD
TO BREATHE. I COULDN'T SLEEP, I COULDN'T FIND PEACE AND I PACED
AND QUOTED
"I WILL GIVE YOU BACK YOUR HEALTH AND HEAL THY WOUNDS."
~JEREMIAH 30:17
I SHALL LIVE AND NOT DIE AND DECLARE THE WORKS OF THE LORD
AMY SHALL NOT DIE AND DECLARE THE WORKS OF THE LORD.
I JUST WANTED TO BREAK EVERY DISH IN THE HOUSE AND THEN I
SAW A BEAUTIFUL MEMORY:

THIS IS A PICTURE OF MY DIL, MEGAN.
IN FRONT OF HER STANDS 2 OF THE MOST PRECIOUS AND PRETTY
GIRLS IN ALL THE WORLD....MY GREAT NIECES:
ISABEL AND DESTINY
THE GRANDDAUGHTERS OF MY SISTER, SHERRY AT
THE WEDDING WAS HELD AT HER PARENTS HOME IN TEXAS.
IT WAS AN OUTDOOR WEDDING AND THEIR HOME BACKS UP TO A LAKE.
MEGAN'S MOTHER MADE ALL THE DRESSES AND MY SISTER AND THE GIRLS
FLEW INTO THE DALLAS/FORT WORTH AIRPORT. THE PICTURE DOES NOT
SHOW HOW BEAUTIFUL THE DRESSES WERE.

THIS YEAR MY DH SPRAY PAINTED MY CHAIRS RED FOR ME. THIS IS JUST A
PEAK OF HOW THE PORCH IS GETTING DRESSED FOR THE HOLIDAY.
MY DH AND I WORKED ON IT MOST OF TUESDAY AND IT WAS SO VERY HOT
OUTSIDE

I CAN WALK THROUGH A STORE AND THINK, DIXIE WOULD LIKE THAT,
OR GLORIA WOULD LOVE THAT, HEIDI AND LAURIE WOULD DECIDE WHICH
WAS THE BEST BARGAIN. IF I SEE ANYTHING WITH A CHERRY, I THINK OF MY
SISTER SHERRY, JENNIFER, TINA, RACHEL.....SO MANY CHERRY LOVERS.
WHEN I SEE A RABBIT I THINK OF MY SISTER SHERRY AND DANA AND
STONE RABBIT.
WHEN I SEE DISHES I THINK OF SUSAN'S TABLESCAPE.
YESTERDAY, STANDING IN LINE AT LOWES, I STARTED TALKING TO A LADY
WHO WAS REDOING HER BATHROOM...I TOLD HER ABOUT MONDAY
METAMORPHIS....WE DON'T EAT FOOD WITHOUT TAKING A PICTURE OF IT...
WHEN I SEE BLUE THINGS I THINK OF MY SISTER SHERRY AND SALLY
WITH BLUE MONDAY. I WILL ALWAYS BE FOND OF DIXIE AND WORDLESS
WEDNESDAY.... I WILL SEE EAR RINGS AND KNOW LADY PENNIWIG MAKES
BEAUTIFUL EAR RINGS.

THIS IS STANDING ON THE PORCH LOOKING DOWN AT THE PUMPKINS.

  1. Debbie, congratulation on winning the gorgeous cake plate and the beautiful bracelet. What special presents. My heart and my prayers will continue to be with Amy and you. I don't pretend to know the pain you're both in, but my heart aches for you. I know the Lord is with you and I pray for an instant healing everyday. Your yard and patio are looking fabulous. Congratulations on reaching such a monumental goal of 100 posts. I have enjoyed them all. Hugs, Marty

  3. Well WOW and YIKES are the first two words that come to mind after looking through your blog.

What an amazing woman of courage you are!

Is that your daughter who has the cancer? I'll be thinking and praying for her.

Man, you always have to remind yourself when you find yourself whining that life can always be harder.

I'm a Christian and I say the wrong things lots of times! We have those things in common. Love dogs too - pugs are my favorite. I 'chat' a lot about different things and try to stay on my positive journey with little spills and falls once in awhile.

Your family sounds wonderful and I love your garden.

I don't join to many 'meme' I think they are called because right now my life seems so busy - I'm on the run a lot. My daughter and grandson live with us - she's a teacher and off for the summer so it has been hectic.

I agree with you about Farrah. She was a good soul.

Well, I joined yours and will be checking in on you!

  12. Congratulations on your giveaway win! A little present helps on a down day, doesn't it? Thinking of your Amy and sending healing wishes to her. Losing it is totally understandable, and I suspect, cathartic. Bless you.

  14. HI to my blogging friend!!!
I feel the same way as you, I get so excited in the morning when I turn on my computer and see comments, cause I think of them as people stopping by to say hi, kinda like the olden days when people actually did that, now everyone is sooo BUSY!!! Even my phone doesn't ring like it use to as everyone would rather send an e-mail or comment or leave a message!! Everyone that knows me knows I love to talk!! I too talk to strangers!!! I ahve taught my little baby granddaughter froma n early early age, "say hi to your friend" if we are out and about and she will just wave and then I taught her to throw a kiss, and it makes some people's day, like one day we were at the mall sitting having some ice tea, and at the table next to us was 4 older people(older then me anyway) and I said say hi to your friend and she waved and with out even saying the rest she threw them a kiss, I say teach your children to be kind, polite and friendly then at age 3 or so teach them to be cautious!!! But being friendly is the greatest gift you can teach a child, at least I feel like that. Love your blog, it's always so uplifting in spite of your sadness you live with, I Pray for Amy everyday.
God Bless you and hugs to you today,
    jamie

  22. Well my heart is very heavy to hear that Amy is having such pain and facing surgery on her birthday. I hope and pray for her to have relief from the pain, for the days up to the surgery to pass quickly, for the balloon to show it is all clear, and for quick healing from the surgery.

I hope and pray that you will find yet more strength, and to also know that even in your weakness, you are mighty. It takes so much courage to just feel sadness, so many push it away and try to act as a tower of strength, but in the good Book, it does say, RELY ON ME.

My words are clumsy but I hope the concern and care come through.

I am so glad you won that giveaway!

  23. Dear Debbie,
I love coming to visit. It's not like visiting a friend, it is visiting a friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Amy. Amy shares the birthday of my dear friend Barbara and since we were born so close together (I'm on the 8th) we were always the Calendar Girls, and I am officially making Amy one of the Calendar Girls.

The cake plate is great. Congratulations and thanks for sharing the sweet photo of Destiny and Isabel.

    City hugs!

Love the outdoor pictures -- that pumpkin is especially amazing!

  26. Oh Debbie, you have every reason to become angry! I cannot imagine the pain you must feel when you see your sweet daughter suffering. My heart is aching thinking of the two of you. I am praying for you both.
I have to tell you that I love the red chairs on your porch, and that darling little lady in the hat.
I know that there are no words I can leave here that will make you or Amy feel better. All I can say is that I continue to pray for both of you. God be with you and hold you in his arms. laurie

  27. Debbie, Beautiful, beautiful post. I am so saddened to hear that Amy has yet another battle to face. She continues to wear her battle gear, and fight the fight, but I am praying for peace and no pain as she is going through this period waiting for her appointment. I will continue to stand on my Faith in God himself that he will take his hands and heal her wounds. I love her so much, and will always see her and Heidi at the table with their barbies and eating mac and cheese. I am so sorry I cannot be there for you, but my heart and soul are there. I love you Marine Amy. You deserve a "Purple Heart" for Bravery, So Many Battles, and all the Souls you have saved through your bravery. I love you darlin. Aunt Sherry

  30. How and what you feel - I know my words is not enough to give you such comfort. God can only give you that. But do know that in my own little way I do keep in mind you, amy, and your family. There will always be a time when we feel that (anger) and I think it is alright to let it all out.

It is so nice that with just one picture, everything can change. And I'm glad you found them. They are adorable girls (the three of them). At least through that you'll be comforted that in your family there is so much love.

  41. Hi Debbie!
I came to check up on you and see how everything was going...I saw that amy is having alot of pain, I wish there was something I could do to make it stop...I also read that you are having a very hard time and your hurting and angry and wanted to break your dishes, don't do that, just think if amy wanted something to eat and you had no dish to put it on then what would you do?...I'm just trying to make you smile a little. : ) I'm always thinking of you and the girls and I just wish there was more I could do...I pray every day for you, I even told my mom about you,amy and leila...I told her it's funny that people I have never met face to face have become friends of the heart and it's like I have known all of you forever....Well I'm so glad to hear that you won the giveaway, I didn't even sign up to that one because I had hoped you could have my chance as well so congrats on the win!!! I love the pumpkin plant, it's growing so nice! ...I better let ya go for now, Have a wonderful 4th of July and give amy a big hug from me... : ) Take care and I'll talk to ya soon! Hugs, Jennifer
