THANK YOU FOR JOINING ME FOR OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY. ANDY, MY SWEET
ASSISTANT FOR TODAY, WOULD LIKE TO THANK OUR BEAUTIFUL HOSTESS, SUSAN AT
http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com
FOR CREATING OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY, AND PRESENT SUSAN WITH THESE ELEGANT
ROSES, CALLED "THE JACKIE ONASSIS ROSE" FROM MY ROSE GARDEN.
PLEASE VISIT SUSAN'S BLOG BY CLICKING ON HER SITE ABOVE OR BY CLICKING
ON HER BUTTON ON MY RIGHT HAND SIDE BAR. WHILE AT HER BLOG YOU WILL
FIND A LIST OF OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY PARTICIPANTS. ALL WONDERFUL LADIES.
THANK YOU ANDY FOR BEING SUCH A WONDERFUL ASSISTANT.
YOU CANNOT TELL BY THIS PICTURE BUT THESE ARE MY BEAUTIFUL PEACE ROSES.
THEY SMELL HEAVENLY. I PUT THEM IN A VINTAGE BLUE ENAMEL COFFEE POT.
I LOVED THE ENAMEL WITH SOMETHING SO ELEGANT.......BUT BOTH OUTSIDE AND
INSIDE YOU COULD NOT TELL HOW BEAUTIFUL THESE ROSES WERE.
THANK GOODNESS I HAD MY DH HERE TO SET THE DATE ON THE CAMERA.
THE LATE FREEZE THIS YEAR WAS NOT GOOD FOR HER
AWAY BUT THEY FLOURISH ON THE WEST SIDE OF MY HOUSE. SOME PEOPLE DIG
THE BULBS UP IN THE FALL TO PROTECT THEM...MY DH AND I NEVER HAVE AND WE
HAVE SOME HARSH WINTERS.
I FOUND THE CHAIR AT A CURB SIDE ONE DAY AND THE SEAT WAS ACTUALLY
ALL BROKEN TWINE-TYPE STUFF...MY HUSBAND MADE A SEAT FOR IT AND THEN CUT
A HOLE FOR MY FLOWER POT. I HAD IT PAINTED IN SOME SOFT VICTORIAN
COLORS BUT IT IS 7 YEARS I HAVE HAD IT. IT SETS AT THE END OF THE FLOWER
BED RIGHT BY THE GATE TO THE BACK YARD...I WANTED SOMETHING SPECIAL TO
BE THERE FOR BACK YARD VISITORS.
I HAVE NOT PLANTED FLOWERS YET BUT THERE WILL BE ASPARAGUS FERN AND
IMPATIENTS.
YOU CAN'T TELL THAT THE HEART SAYS WELCOME....THE STRING HANGING DOWN
TIES THE HEART TO THE BACK OF THE CHAIR WHEN FLOWERS ARE PLANTED.
ROSE BUSH AND IT MAY BE CALLED THE JACKIE O...WE JUST CANNOT REMEMBER.
IT IS A DEEP SALMON COLORED AND THE ROSES ARE SMALL...NOT AS BIG AS MY
PEACE ROSES. THE SMELL IS BEAUTIFUL....LIKE THE OLD, OLD ENGLISH
ROSES THAT OUR GRANDMOTHERS HAD.
DON'T KNOW IF I WILL BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE BECAUSE IT WILL BE THE DAY BEFORE AMY'S
SURGERY....MAYBE I CAN POST IT MONDAY NIGHT.
AMY ALWAYS HAS A RED NECKLACE ON......THE LITTLE GLASS BALL HANGING FROM THE
NECKLACE IS A MUSTARD SEED. THAT IS ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL STORY
FOR ANOTHER DAY.
WHEN AMY RECEIVED HER LAST CHEMOTHERAPY. THEY ARE LIKE TWO LITTLE
RED HENS PECKING OUT MESSAGES ON THEIR MATCHING BLACKBERRIES...THEY
CARRY MATCHING PURSES AND THEY BROUGHT A CREAM CHEESE DIP TO EAT
WHILE AMY WAS GETTING CHEMO.
SHE WAS OFFERING THE CAMERA LADY A CRACKER.
SHE WAS OFFERING THE CAMERA LADY A CRACKER.
I CALL DR. DEXEUS'S BROWN RECLINER OF HOPE. NOW ON THE OTHER SIDE OF
THE ROOM THERE ARE BLUE RECLINERS OF HOPE.
THE WINDOWS AT THE BACK OF THE PICTURE IS WHERE THEY MIX ALL THE
CHEMOTHERAPY DRUGS. NO ONE BUT THE THREE NURSES MIXING DRUGS ARE
EVER ALLOWED IN THAT ROOM.
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE NEVER RECEIVED CHEMOTHERAPY, AMY AND
LEILA BOTH HAVE PORT-A-CATHS. YOU CAN SEE THE TUBING COMING OUT FROM
AMY'S SHIRT. THE PORT-A-CATH IS IMPLANTED IN SURGERY AND HAS A TUBE FEEDING TO
AN AREA OF THE HEART WHERE THERE IS A LARGE BLOOD FLOW (IMPLANTED IN THE LEFT
SIDE OF CHEST WALL) PEOPLE WHO HAVE PORT-A-CATHS IMPLANTED MEANS THEY ARE GOING
TO BE RECEIVING SOME VERY HARD CORE CHEMO DRUGS THAT WILL DESTROY THE VEINS
AND WITH SOME OF THE CHEMOS IF THE IV INFILTRATES IT WILL DESTROY THE
SURROUNDING TISSUE.
AMY WILL GO TO DR. DEXEUS THURSDAY BUT NO CHEMO.
AMY WILL GO TO DR. DEXEUS THURSDAY BUT NO CHEMO.
SHE GOES TO SEE DR. MEDINA IN OKC 6/8/09 AT 3:00 PM. SHE HAS A CT SCAN
PRIOR AT 1:00 PM.....AND SURGERY 6/10/09 BUT WE WON'T KNOW ANYTHING UNTIL
6/8/09 ABOUT THE TIME OF SURGERY.
GREAT NEWS....PRAISE THE LORD NEWS ON LEILA............AMY WENT WITH LEILA
GREAT NEWS....PRAISE THE LORD NEWS ON LEILA............AMY WENT WITH LEILA
FOR HER DRS. APPOINTMENT MONDAY. HER DR. GAVE HER THE RESULTS OF HER
CT SCAN........AFTER TWO ROUNDS OF CHEMOTHERAPY THE PARTS OF THE TUMOR
THAT COULD NOT BE REMOVED HAVE SHRUNK "40 %" OH PRAISE THE LORD.
ALSO WHEN SHE WAS FIRST DIAGNOSED HER BLOOD CANCER LEVEL WAS OVER
500......500.....IT IS NOW 42......OH PRAISE THE LORD.
I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS TEST BECAUSE THEY DID NOT DO THIS ON AMY
BUT I WONDER IF IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH UTERINE/OVARY CANCER.
AT TWELVE NOON 6/2/08 SHE WAS BLESSED WITH THE DELIVERY OF A
BEAUTIFUL GREAT GRANDSON
JEREMIAH LUCAS
9 LBS. 4 OUNCES
21 INCHES LONG
YOU CAN SEE A PICTURE OF HIM ON HER BLOG (I WILL GIVE YOU THE

ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteLoved your roses, but more important is your heart that reaches out to so many people here in blogland. I am touched by your love for others. It is wonderful that Amy and Lelia, have one another while going through this ordeal, I believe God has put them together to strengthen and encourage each other. Thanking God for Lelia's good news, and now we are thanking God for Amy's good news to come!!
Blessings,

Beautiful roses...fun little chair
ReplyDeleteagreeing with you for good news for Amy...blessings of all His best to all of you today!!
Debbie, first of all, I'm happy for the good news that Amy got! I know that's a HUGE relief and a big prayer answered.
ReplyDeleteThose Jackie O roses are the most amazing shade of pink. They are some of my favorites I've seen. Just lovely. And what a cute little chair in your garden!
I love canna lilies because they will always remind me of my grandmother. She had a HUGE stand of them in her yard. They grow wild along the roadways here in Florida, and I keep thinking I might plant some in the yard. Granny's were always red, but I am partial to the yellow ones.
Happy Outdoor Wednesday... sending love your way...
XO,
Sheila :-)

Hi Debbie, thanks so much for stopping by. I love your roses, they are just gorgeous. But not nearly as beautiful as those 2 strong, brave ladies Amy and Leila. I pray that Amy's news is as good as Leila's! To answer your questions, the pictures are all from our little town, Georgetown Texas. They are all from the lake or the North and South San Gabriel rivers. Nice to meet you, happy OW! Kathy
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures you are very creative!
