OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY AND A BEAUTIFUL NEW BLOG TO SHARE WITH YOU

PLEASE STOP BY AND TELL SUSAN, OUR BEAUTIFUL HOSTESS HELLO AND CHECK OUT
THE LIST OF BLOGS WHO ARE PARTICIPATING IN FUN OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY.
SUSAN YOU ARE THE BEST...THANK YOU
TODAY WE ARE GOING TWO PLACES...FIRST A LITTLE QUICK STOP TO TELL YOU
ABOUT A NEW BLOG THAT IS NEAR AND DEAR TO MY HEART AND THEN WE ARE
GOING TO TAKE A DRIVE OVER TO MY MOTHER'S HOUSE AND WALK THROUGH
HER GARDEN. FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELT AND HOLD ON....I DRIVE LIKE MR. MAGOO.

MY SISTER SHERRY, WHO IS ONE OF THE BUSIEST PEOPLE I KNOW, HAS FINALLY
FOUND A LITTLE TIME TO GET HER BLOG UP AND RUNNING. THE HEADER IS
SO VERY BEAUTIFUL. YOU ALL WILL LIKE HER VERY MUCH...I HAVE ALWAYS
BEEN HER BIGGEST FAN.
I WOULD LOVE IT SO VERY MUCH IF YOU FLUTTERED BY AND WELCOMED HER TO
BLOG LAND. IT WON'T BE LONG AND SHE WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN OUTDOOR
WEDNESDAY...SHE LOVES TO GARDEN AND EVEN IN THE VERY HOT CITY OF
PHOENIX, ARIZONA SHE MAINTAINS A BEAUTIFUL GARDEN YEAR ROUND.
HER BLOG IS:
THANK YOU SO MUCH.
THANK YOU OLDE DAME PENNIWIG FOR THE BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY GRAPHIC

THIS IS MY BEAUTIFUL MOTHER, PEGGY, AND SHE IS VERY EXCITED YOU HAVE
CAME TO VISIT HER GARDEN TODAY. SHE HAS BEEN WORKING VERY HARD WEEDING
AND PLANTING IN HER VARIOUS POTS.
DADDY DOES THE MOWING AND EDGING AND KEEPING UP HIS TWO VEGETABLE
GARDENS BUT MOTHER DOES ALL THE LANDSCAPING AND FLOWERS AND HER ROCK
AND CACTUS GARDENS.

AS ALWAYS, I WISH MY DH AND I COULD TAKE BETTER PICTURES BUT NOTHING IS
AS BEAUTIFUL AS BEING THERE, SEEING THE COLOR FOR YOURSELF AND JUST THE
ANIMATION OF THE GARDEN. MOTHER WILL BE DISAPPOINTED THE PICTURES
DO NOT SHOW HOW BEAUTIFUL HER GARDENS ARE. WHEN YOU WORK REAL HARD
ON SOMETHING YOU ALWAYS WANT THE PICTURES TO REVEAL SO.

THIS PICTURE IS AT THE FRONT OF HER HOUSE TO THE SIDE OF HER GARAGE.
IT HAS VARIOUS CACTI IN POTS THAT MY BROTHER HAS THE "JOY"? OF PLACING
IN THE GARAGE AS FALL ENDS....BOTH MY BROTHER AND DADDY HATE THOSE CACTI
BECAUSE OF THEIR RUDE THORNS THAT WILL TAKE EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO BITE YOU,
BUT MOTHER HAS BEEN MOVING THEM IN AND OUT OF THE GARAGE FOR 20 PLUS
YEARS. SHE USE TO DO THIS BY HERSELF BUT THEY HAVE GROWN TOO BIG AND WEIGH
TOO MUCH.

MY COUSIN, WHO LIVED IN LAS VEGAS AT THE TIME, SENT THIS TREE FACE TO

MOTHER AND DADDY. DADDY, WHO RARELY SHOWS HIS CREATIVE SIDE, MADE A

MOUSTACHE FOR THIS GENTLEMAN.

DADDY IS IN CHARGE OF ALL THE TREES BUT MOTHER CRACKS THE PECANS UNTIL

HER HANDS ARE STAINED FOR MONTHS.

THEY HAVE 6 PECAN TREES, 1 WALNUT, 1 ALMOND, 1 PEACH, 1 APRICOT, 1 ELM,

1 BEAUTIFUL CYPRESS TREE, 1 PINE TREE, AND WHAT THEY CALL THEIR WISTERIA

TREE.....OH YES I FORGOT...1 RED BUD TREE.

THIS IS IN THE FRONT YARD BUT YOU CAN SEE BO AND ROXIE, THEIR 2

SCHNAUZER'S BEHIND THE FENCE.

THIS IS THE ONLY, QUOTE, FLOWER GARDEN MY DADDY HAS.....HE HAS QUITE
A TECHNIQUE, EXCEPT FOR THE IRISES OF COURSE. HE MIXES ALL HIS SEEDS INTO
A PLASTIC BOWL.....THEN TOSSES THE SEEDS UPON THE DIRT AND SAYS, "GROW."
I HAVE WRITTEN MANY STORIES ABOUT HIS LITTLE FLOWER GARDEN....NOTHING IS
IN BLOOM NOW BUT IT IS USUALLY VERY BEAUTIFUL AND COLORFUL.

WHERE THIS PECAN TREE IS, WATER ALWAYS STANDS AFTER A RAIN.
THIS AREA ALL THE WAY TO THE DECK STEPS, IS NOW A PAVED PATIO. THEY
HAD THIS DONE THE DAY AFTER THESE PICTURES WERE TAKEN. MOTHER WILL
HAVE A SMALL FLOWER BED NEXT TO THE HOUSE AND AROUND THE PECAN TREE.

YOU CAN SEE THE SLIDING GLASS DOORS THAT ARE OFF THE LIVING ROOM.
MOTHER AND DADDY CAN SET IN THE LIVING ROOM AND WATCH THE BIRDS EAT
SEED ON THEIR DECK. THEY HAVE 6 BIRD BATHS IN THEIR YARD. THEY LOVE
THE BIRDS, THEIR TREES AND DO NOT LIKE THE SQUIRRELS AS THEY DESTROY
EVERYTHING...THEY EAT THE PEACES BEFORE THEY ARE READY...THEY ATE THE
ALMONDS BEFORE THEY WERE READY AND JUST DESTROY THE PECANS....YEAH
THEY ARE NOT BIG FANS OF THE SQUIRRELS.

THE DOOR LEADS TO THEIR SUN ROOM. IT IS BEAUTIFUL. DADDY HAS TAKEN
OVER THE ROOM BECAUSE IT IS A SMALLER ROOM AND HE CAN SEE HIS
TELEVISION BETTER....WE LAUGH ABOUT HIM...HE HAS EVERYTHING OUT THERE
HE NEEDS BUT A TOILET. HE IS SO VERY HAPPY OUT THERE AND IT MAKES US
HAPPY. THERE IS WINDOWS ENCIRCLING AND HE AND MOTHER CAN WATCH THE
BIRDS AND 2 OF THEIR 3 PRECIOUS DOGS WATCH OUT THE WINDOW FOR SQUIRRELS.

THIS IS SWEET ROXIE, THEIR RESCUE SCHNAUZER.

THIS IS A PICTURE OF MOTHER'S ROCK GARDEN.
AS SHE WAS CLEANING OUT ALL THE LEAVES, SHE GOT OFF BALANCE AND
COULD NOT CATCH HERSELF, FALLING INTO THE MIDDLE OF ALL THOSE ROCKS.
SHE IS OKAY BUT SHE WAS SKINNED UP AND BRUISED.

IT LOOKS PRETTY AT NIGHT WITH THE LIGHTS ON.

I LOVE THIS BEAUTIFUL BIRD BATH. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE LIKE IT BEFORE
AND WOULD LOVE TO HAVE IT AT MY HOUSE. IT WON'T BE GOING ANY WHERE...
MOTHER LOVES IT.

THIS IS MOTHER'S LOCKSPUR...I HOPE I SPELLED THAT RIGHT...ALL I KNOW IS
IT IS SO VERY BEAUTIFUL...WAVING IN THE BREEZE...BEAUTIFUL.

THOSE ARE DADDY'S GRAPEVINES ON THE BACK FENCE.
STANDING THERE WITH MOTHER I THOUGHT BACK TO WHEN MY BROTHER,
SISTER AND I WOULD STAND ON THE BACK FENCE AND WATCH THEM CUT WHEAT.
WE WERE SURROUNDED BY WHEAT FIELDS AND OUR STREET WAS A DIRT ROAD.

MY DH AND I BOUGHT THAT BELL FOR MOTHER AND DADDY. THEY HAD A
PASSIONATE BOARD MEETING FOR HOW HIGH TO AND WHERE TO PLACE IT.
BUT IT WAS PLANTED AND WE RING IT FOR DIFFERENT OCCASSIONS SUCH AS
50 TIMES FOR THEIR 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY.

THANK YOU AS ALWAYS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO SHARE OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY
WITH ME. YOU ARE SPECIAL TO ME.

HUGS AND SUNSHINE

When Roy first got sick, he was in the hospital so long that no one thought to move the inside/outside plants back inside....I lost them all! I think Roy is still tickled about that!

I bought my Mom a birdbath like that last Mother's Day. It really is very beautiful. I wish I had gotten one for myself!

  17. Debbie, thank you for visiting my blog and for your kind comments. I will so much appreciate your prayers. I did lose my sister to cancer. She was 43. I miss her so. I only have 1 brother left and he is 3 hours away. I took a tour of your mother's garden. How beautiful and peaceful. It sure takes a lot of time and effort to make a garden so nice. I hope you will visit me again and I have pictures on an older post of my front porch. I hope you saw them. That is the best I can do with my busy schedule, not much time for gardening I'm afraid although I do have some roses which I love. Can't live without roses. I pray God will bless you for you are a blessing. Thanks again.

  18. I love coming here. A feeling of peacefulness just washes over me whenever I drop by. I have missed my old homes in Arkansas and Louisiana so much, and all my people are gone, and when I come here, it is like a door to the past opens and I can visit again with things from long ago that I thought were lost forever, like old-time rock gardens and the cactus garden, and the larkspur, gosh, haven't seen it for nearly 40 years and there is a lovely patch of it right in your mama's garden!

Your mama's yard is like a treasure trove! I love old-fashioned things and she has the best of them all and everywhere you look, there is something else to admire, really it's like a tour and I for one would pay money to go in such a yard!

I hope Amy is resting from the chemo and gaining strength, and I hope some weight can be gained as well now. And the counts go up that ought to go up to fight this cancer.
