XO...AMY...XO
ALWAYS IN OUR HEART
GOOD MORNING!
GET YOURSELF A CUP OF TEA OR
COFFEE AND...
SET DOWN
RELAX
AND
LISTEN TO ME TO TELL YOU A
"TRUE" STORY ABOUT
THE BLUEJAY AND THE TULIP BULB!
WE USE TO LIVE IN A SWEET COTTAGE
THAT I FELL IN LOVE WITH
IMMEDIATELY UPON SEEING IT.
WHAT MY DH AND I REALLY LOVED WAS
IT SET ON ONE AND 3/4 LOTS AND WE
LOVED WORKING IN THE YARD.
ONE DAY (12 YEARS AGO) I WAS PLANTING
TULIPS IN THE FRONT YARD. I STOPPED
TO TALK TO MY DH AND A FRISKY BLUE JAY
FLEW IN LIKE A STREAK OF LIGHTENING
AND PILFERED ONE OF THE TULIP BULBS.
WHILE FLYING TOWARD THE HOUSE ACROSS
THE STREET HE CIRCLED 'ROUND AND LANDED
BY THE STREET LIGHT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF
OUR DRIVEWAY. MY DH, AMY, AND I JUST
LAUHGED AS HE BEGAN TO FURIOUSLY HIDE
THIS BULB IN THE GRASS.
AS THE DAY PROGRESSED AND RICHIE WAS
HOME FROM SCHOOL AND THE DINNER HOUR
APPROACHED, I FORGOT ABOUT THE BULB
THE BLUE JAY PLANTED.
COME THE FOLLOWING SPRING AND EVERY
SPRING AFTER WE HAD ONE BEAUTIFUL RED
TULIP TO LOOK FORWARD TOO. AMY MOVED
INTO OUR HOUSE, WHEN WE MOVED INTO
RICHARD'S CHILDHOOD HOME, AND THE
ONE RED TULIP CONTINUED TO BLOOM
EVERY SPRING.
THIS SPRING, OUR FIRST WITHOUT AMY HERE,
THE ONE RED TULIP BLOOMED "TEN"
TEN BEAUTIFUL TULIPS
IN 2010
EVERY OTHER YEAR "ONE" TULIP!
I THINK IT IS A BLESSING FROM HEAVEN
I WAS STANDING IN THE DOORWAY OF
AMY'S HOUSE AFTER LOOKING AND TAKING
PICTURES OF OUR TEN BLOOMS AND A
MOTHER AND LITTLE GIRL WALKED UP TO
THE TULIPS. THE LITTLE GIRL MAY HAVE
BEEN 5 OR 6 AND SHE HAD A LITTLE PINK
CAMERA. SHE TOOK 2 OR 3 PICTURES OF THE
TULIPS AND JUST SMILED AT HER MOTHER.
I STARTED TO WALK OUT AND TELL THEM
THE STORY BUT I WAS WEEPY AND I WANTED
THIS PRECIOUS LITTLE GIRL TO REMEMBER
THE FUN TIME THAT SHE HAD WITH HER
MOTHER AND HER LITTLE CAMERA. (TO MAKE
A SWEET MEMORY TO FILE AWAY FOR A DAY
SHE WOULD NEED IT, AND I NEEDED TO
SEE HER AND HER MOTHER.....SOMEONE OUT
OF SKIN...TWO ANGELS TO HELP ME REMEMBER
THE BEAUTIFUL TIMES WITH NOT ONLY AMY
BUT RICHIE.)
AS I WATCHED THEM WALK OFF, HAND AND
HAND I DID REMEMBER ALL THE TIMES
AMY AND RICHIE WERE THAT AGE...."EXCEPT"
FROM THE AGE OF TWO YEARS, AMY ALWAYS
HAD A LITTLE PURSE, AND RICHIE HAD A
SOCCER BALL. (OH, THE THINGS HE BROKE)
WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT OUR MEMORIES.
THE SAME PEOPLE "STILL" NEED PRAYER...
THERE ARE NOW SO VERY MANY, I AM
GOING TO FIGURE A WAY TO PUT ALL OF THEIR
NAMES ON THE SIDE BAR...BECAUSE EACH
PERSON IS IN NEED OF A MIRACLE.

THANK YOU FOR SPENDING A
A PART OF YOUR DAY WITH ME.
AS CAROL BURNETT WOULD SAY
"I'M SO GLAD WE HAD THIS TIME
TOGETHER!"
Debbie, what a beautiful story about the tulips, thank you for sharing it! We have a wild rose bush in the back that only usually gets a few roses on it as I don't really do anything to take care of it. The summer after we lost a loved one, my BIL, it bloomed profusely and that whole summer every time we were outside, there were SOoooo many butterflies:)I think they do send us signs, we just have to know to look for them!!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, GOD does pour out blessings on us from heaven...I am praying with you for these many who need HIS touch!

It's so good to hear from you! I pray for you daily! Tulips are my favorite flowers! All I could think of when you said ten was,"GOD" giving back "tenfold"!! I hope "GOD" sends many more "BLESSINGS" and signs your way,as you truely do deserve it!!

ReplyDeleteMay God Bless You!
Debbie this post gave me chills. Indeed it is a sign from heaven! Only those who know the love of our heavenly Father could see the signifcance of the tulips tenfold!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been posting much lately as I have been pretty busy, but I would ask you the favor of a prayer for my mom who is facing some serious medical issues right now. I will write more to you in an email. Blessings to you today and always! Hugs, Loretta
What a beautiful story. Wow. 10 tulips for Amy.
ReplyDeleteWhen my brother died he wanted his ashes strewn about my parents property (1 acre in the country, next to protected wildlife property). We accommodated his wishes, and placed a memorial next to the big oak tree in the front yard. Two years later a funny thing happened. A trillium came up and bloomed in that very spot. It's been blooming every year since. I always thought God told my brother "you pick the flower, I'll plant the seed".
Bless you today and every day.
10 = "he will meet my needs 10 fold"
ReplyDeletei should call the birds to come help me with some gardening. Thanks for taking the time to shre such a sweet meory
The tulip making ten blooms is an unmistakable sign. That's just incredible, the sort of story that brings a person up short and puts them to thinking.
