REMEMBER US IN PRAYER

THIS IS A PICTURE MY SISTER, SHERRY TOOK OF ME AND AMY A FEW YEARS AGO.

AMY HAS ALWAYS WORN A MUSTARD SEED AROUND HER NECK AND HAS EVEN LOANED

IT TO OTHER PEOPLE WHEN THEY WERE IN A HEALTH CRISIS.

THIS POST IS TO LET YOU KNOW A FEW THINGS.

1. WHEN I STARTED BLOGGING IT WAS GOING TO BE FUN AND I WAS GOING TO SHARE

WITH YOU SOME FUN PROJECTS AND DIFFERENT ROOMS AROUND MY HOUSE.

2. I WANTED IT TO BE AN INSPIRATION AND I HOPED I WOULD MAKE SOME LASTING

FRIENDS. IT WAS NOT JUST ABOUT THE NUMBERS BUT I DID WANT PEOPLE TO

LIKE ME AND I WANTED IT TO BE A POPULAR BLOG.

3. I FOUND SOME WONDERFUL FRIENDS WHO ARE THERE TO PRAY FOR AMY AT THE

CLICK OF THE POST OR COMMENT BUTTON.

AMY'S SURGERY WILL BE MONDAY AUGUST 10, 2009. WE WILL NOT KNOW THE

TIME UNTIL FRIDAY. THEY HAVE MOVED IT UP SOONER THAN THEY PLANNED.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 7, 2009 AT 0800 WE HAVE TO BE AT THE THORACIC SURGEON. THEY

ALSO PLAN TO DO A PET SCAN ON THAT DAY.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2009 AT 1100 AM THE BASS HOME CARE NURSE WILL BE AT OUR

HOME TO START AMY ON HYPERAL. IT WILL INFUSE ROUND THE CLOCK EXCEPT FOR

HER TIME AT THE SURGEON'S OFFICE FRIDAY, AND WILL THEN RESTART WHEN WE

GET BACK FROM OKC. WE HAD HOPED THEY WOULD HAVE STARTED HYPERAL TODAY

BUT IT TAKES TIME TO ORDER IT AND GET HOME CARE SET UP.

THE LAST TWO NIGHTS HAVE BEEN ROUGH ON AMY FOR PAIN AND THROWING UP.

I DIDN'T KNOW THAT ANYONE NOT TAKING ANYTHING TO EAT AND ONLY DRINK

TO SWALLOW PILLS WOULD HAVE SO MUCH LIQUID TO THROW UP. YUCKY.

AMY'S SURGERY IS GOING TO BE QUITE LENGTHLY AND INVOLVED. A VERY SERIOUS

OPERATION I'M TRYING TO SAY WITHOUT SAYING IT, I GUESS.

I DO NOT HAVE A LAP TOP AND SO I AM TURNING THE LIGHTS DOWN LOW

ON MY BLOG. I WOULD STILL LOVE TO SEE THAT YOU HAVE BEEN BY AND SAID HI.

I DON'T KNOW WHEN I WILL BE BACK TO BLOG. I WILL STILL BE PRAYING FOR

ALL YOUR REQUESTS WHILE I AM PRAYING FOR AMY. IT MAKES ME SAD TO

BE AWAY FROM YOU BUT IT IS TEMPORARY.

  1. My Dear Sweet Sister,
I LOVE YOU SOOO much. I come here first every morning for my breath of fresh air, and my prayer guidance. I always know you are on the other side of this computer waiting on me. I will so miss that. I feel like you are moving. I cannot go there. I will be in constant prayer for my precious Amy and you, my precious sister, as you are going through this surgery also. Only a Mother can feel the pain for her child. Only a Mother knows what her child is feeling and have her insides ripped out at the same time as her child. We are going to get through this every stumbled step of the way. I will always be here for you my precious sister. ALWAYS!! I would walk through fire for you as you would me. I have always found it funny to be 2 years apart we think so much like twins. We always seems to feel what the other is feeling. I am so thrilled that you found Barbara and can call her, and vent, and talk to her. Everyone needs a friend and I thank God for her every day. She has been a wonderful friend to you. I know you will read this Barbara so thank you. Thank you! Thank You! Your light here at There's An Angel On Your Frontporch will burn bright for years to come. This is your refuge my precious sister. You have many talents and one the gift of prayer. You have uplifted so many souls you have no idea. They rely on you far more than you will ever know. They come here for their cup of substance for the day. You have friends who come here for your humor, for your friendship, but most of all Dear Debbie, they come her for your EVERLASTING LOVE. Your blog has been such a comfort to me, I will find myself coming here just to say I love you, and I miss you. When you aren't reachable by phone I blog you. Somehow it always makes me feel better. This blog may have a low voltage on the light, but the it will burn FOREVER. I love you so much my DEAR SISTER. I will you forever and to eternity. All my Love, Sherry

  2. Hi Debbie!

Amy and you are in my prayers! Prayer is a powerful thing and we have to be prayer warriors in this world. Blogging is such a great tool to get the word out for prayer needs.

You are Amy's angel her on earth, I lift you up in prayer for strength to be the caregiver. It's a very special role in life to be chosen to care for a loved one.

Please add another person to your prayer list if you would be so kind ( and I know you will). It's Marie @ Dolls be Marie Antoinette. She is having many health issues and is finally going to a specialist soon. I am praying for a healing for her.

Thank you and know I am praying her for you and Amy!! Big hugs, Sherry

  10. Debbie, as I read your words my heart has feelings all so familiar to me. Debbie and Sherry, you two are like my sister and I. As you know we married in a double wedding and had 5 children almost each at the same time. When I lost her at age 32, my life was never the same. Debbie as a mom, I know how it feels to want to offer your life in exchange for your child. I have worked with folks who radical neck dissections and yes it takes along to heal. That is where the patient and faith really come in. There will a star shining over your blog spot and a candle on this blog til you return.

MY LIFE IS IN YOUR HANDS

    Life can be so good
    Life can be so hard
    Never knowing what each day
Will bring to where you are
    Sometimes I forget
    And sometimes I can't see
    That whatever comes my way
    You'll be with me

My life is in your hands
My heart is in your keeping
    I'm never without love
Not when my future is with you

My life is in your hands
And though I may not see clearly
I will lift my voice and sing
Cause your love does amazing things
Lord, I know, my life is in your hands

    Nothing is for sure
    Nothing is for keeps
All I know is that your love
    Will live eternally
So I will find my way, yes
And I will find my peace
Knowing that you'll meet my every need

My life is in your hands
My heart is in your keeping
    I'm never without love
Not when my future is with you

My life is in your hands
And though I may not see clearly
I will lift my voice and sing
Cause your love does amazing things
Lord, I know, my life is in your hands

When I'm at my weakest love
    You carry me
Then I become my strongest love
    In your hands

My life is in your hands
And though I may not see clearly
I will lift my voice and sing
Cause your love does amazing things
Lord, I know, my life is in your hands
    I trust you Lord
My life is in your hands

  12. Dearest Sweet Debbie..
A few weeks ago as I was getting out of my car at Church the song Calling all Angels was playing on my radio..because I had just been on Sherry's page earlier and heard that same song.. Amy was on my heart as I entered the sanctuary. Our Pastor spoke of a mighty healing that morning.. and my thoughts went directly to Amy again. I have many loved ones, and friends of loved ones that are all in need of a healing, but none of those came to mind at that moment.. Just AMY. I have constantly been praying for Amy, You and Y'alls family.. But never had I felt the power of that prayer until that very moment. I know God placed her more so on my heart that day for a reason. I will continue to wrap & lift Amy, You and the hands of all those treating her in Prayer over this next path.
    Love & Blessings,
    Debbie

  13. Dearest Debbie, I am a blogging buddy of Sherry's and just stopped in to give you a great big hug from Jesus. Although my daughter's haven't had cancer, my older sister(like my mom)did battle it for 8 years, countless surgeries and chemos. So my heart goes out to you during this time with your girl. The same God who had such power to raise His Son from the dead is still able to heal and raise people today. His grace is sufficient for you and He is right beside you and Amy and your family. May His Spirit bring a balm of comfort to you today and in the coming days. Know that many are praying for all of you!

  16. Oh sweet Aunt Debbie, I know this has been such a comfort to you for so long, and to hear that you are dimming the lights, I have to wipe away the tears. I have enjoyed our lovely talks together, and I can not wait until we are face to face to have the talks with each others presence and smiles.I love you with all my heart Aunt Debbie, and I know that we will pull through this with the grace of God, he will shine through Amy with all his might. She will smile again, she will laugh again. I will make sure that the sun does not set while I am there without a smile upon her face. I am doing what I can to arrange to come out there soon after surgery so that I may help comfort Amy, and especially you. With having two little girls, the thought of them in pain kills me, and I know you must be going through hell on earth right now. The light of God will provail. I love you my sweet Aunt, you may be dimming your lights, but remember you will turn them on very soon. We can have a coming back blog celebration :0)

Take care sweet Aunt, and I know I will hear your voice soon. Now rest your eyes, smile, breathe in and out, and know that there are hundreds of sisiters out here praying for you to have strength through this difficult time, and we stand together in prayer, we stand strong.

    I love you

  20. Forget you? No, never, not possible. And your blog will come roaring back as soon as the medical crisis is over and Amy is on the mend.

A very sweet bloggie friend of mine invented a very uplifting and true saying: YOU WILL BLOOM AGAIN...do you know who I'm talking about? *grin* She's VERY nice...a DARLING person...

On a stage, before the play begins and between scenes, the lights are dimmed...but all is in waiting...the order is given, the lights blaze, and the play begins...

I will stay in the audience, in the dim light, waiting for you and Amy's play to continue!!!

And what a play it will be. There will be tears, yes, but happiness will triumph in the end. And we will be there to see it and share it! Because a life unshared is so lonely and such a waste. So many enjoy your blog, and so many are concerned with the trials and tribulations of Amy and you. And we draw strength from your wisdom and your sharing.

Of course I will be thinking of you. Sherry is doing such a good job of updating, I know she feels helpless way out in the Phx. but I'm so glad she is able to talk with you and give us reports about what is going on.

  50. My sweet Aunt Debbie, I am not sure if you will read this or even have time today to do so. I am praying on my knees every minute that goes by that Amy's surgery will go smoothly there will be no complications, and that this horrible evil that lurks inside her body will be washed out today threw the hands of the Lord, and the assisting Doctors. I pray Amy will finally have a life of hope, pain free, and be able to live out the rest of her days in a peacful mannor. I love you all so much, and words can not even express how truly unhappy I am that I am unable to be there this morning to hold your hands threw your hour of need. I should say hours of need.

Our Heavenly father who art in heaven how though it be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in Heaven, give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who tresspass against us, and let us not into tempation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever AMEN.

Fairy hugs, kisses, smooches, love, and prayers,
    Heidi

  51. Just stopping by. I don't want to take a moment for granted and one never knows what the Lord has planned. One day I could be the one asking for prayers from you and other bloggers, friends and family members. THE LORD gives us our portion and nothing more and nothing less. HIS will, not ours! How awesome that I was lead here to lend a few words of support and found a family whose love spills over into this blog! I can't imagine the feeling of being in the room with you all and experiencing it in person!

    Love and prayers!

  56. Debbie, I want you to know I just read the update on your sister's blog, and my heart is there for you, friend. And even through tears as I type, despite everything that I just read, I keep my heart focussed on the knowledge that Jesus has overcome this world, and we will one day be together (and I believe shortly) in a place where there is no more sickness, death, or tears. I give thanks that the Lord has made that possible and has promised it in His Holy Word.

If I don't meet you this side of Glory, I want you to know that I have so much hearfelt respect for your courage and faith. They have meant and continue to mean so much to me. I hope in the days ahead that the prayers of the blogging community will carry you, Amy, and your whole family through these waters. I just wish I was there for you right now to help you somehow, but please know I'm sending my prayers to the Father and my love to you.

    XO,

    Sheila

  74. Debbie,

I am new to your blog but have seen Dame Penniwigs sign on her blog and have read some of what is going on on Carmen C.'s blog.

I have said a prayer for the great love of God to embrace Amy and your family in this time of need. The Lord knows how you feel and you can take comfort in that. The Lord knows how Amy feels as well and that is another comfort. Amy is not alone, you are not alone, your family and friends are not alone. May God's mighty love and mercy bless your family. May you all find the moments of peace granted to you and take comfort in those times. It is just one day at a time one moment at a time.

I write these things to you from having a similiar experience with my mother. This is the time to call on God's strength.

"The joy of the Lord is our strength".

    Everyday is a new day.

Take care and God bless you all

    Nan

  82. Good Morning My Sweet Precious Sister.
I have so prayed for "peace" for Amy, as that is what I was feeling was needed. Her pain must be wiped away and allow her to rest her little weary soul. I pray that God will give her this rest, and not allow her to suffer. That is all that she has really known in this world, and I so wanted her to see what is really out there besides pain and suffering, cancer, chemo and drugs. She has never really known life as we know it. I am so sorry I could not be there. Heidi and Tony will be leaving early in the morning for home. I am so happy to hear that Amy got her bed delivered, as I know it is easier for her to rest, and easier for you to care for her. I am holding you up every day in prayer, and holding you up every night in prayer. I am right there with you my precious sister, just like when we were kids. I have never left your side. Kiss my "Angel Amy" and remind her how very much I love her. Her giggle will remain in my heart for as long as I live. She is so precious and has given me such joy in her 33 years of life. I will always see her and Heidi at the table with Barbies in one hand and the spoon to their mac and cheese in the other. Laughing and giggling away. Call when you need me, I am right here. Always right here. I love you my precious, precious, sister, Sherry

  84. Debbie, my heart is just overflowing. I don't even know what to say, but let me say that I hold you, Amy, and the entire family in prayer. When I read last week about you singing to Amy, I was so keyed in on Amy and you that I didn't even make the connection to Mama. You have no idea how much that touches me, Debbie, and I so appreciate you sharing. Sending loads of love your way. I'm holding on for a healing.

    XO,
