I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THE ROBIN
THE BLUE BIRD IS MY VERY FAVORITE BIRD BUT I HAVE NEVER
GOTTEN TO SEE HER IN PERSON
I REMEMBER AS A LITTLE GIRL, THE ROBIN'S WERE LIKE OUR
GUARDIAN ANGELS. WHEN WE PLAYED UNDER THE SPRINKLER,
THE ROBIN WOULD RUN AND STOP....RUN AND STOP...PLAYING THEIR
OWN GAME IN THE SPRINKLER.

ONE DAY I WAS JUST SETTING OUTSIDE, HAVING A LITTLE TALK
WITH JESUS. I ASK THE LORD TO SHOW ME HUMILITY..........
I LOOKED ACROSS THE STREET AND THEIR WAS A MUD PUDDLE
(THIS IS NOT THE REAL LIFE PICTURE I SAW)
THEIR IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS AWFUL MUD PUDDLE
WAS A BEAUTIFUL ROBIN TAKING A BATH....
THE ROBIN WAS JUST WHISTLING THE TUNE:
"CHEERILY, CHEER UP, CHEER UP, CHEERILY, CHEER UP"
AND I SAY TODAY, TO ANY ONE WITH A HEAVY HEART,
"CHEERILY, CHEER UP, CHEER UP, CHEERILY, CHEER UP"
I DIDN'T WHISTLE THE TUNE BECAUSE I REMEMBER THE CHRISTMAS,
MY SISTER SHERRY, WAS WHISTLING AT GRANDPA ROGERS CHRISTMAS
BREAKFAST AND GREAT AUNT MERLE SAID, "STOP THAT WHISTLING.
LADIES DON'T WHISTLE!" YOU DON'T TELL MY SISTER, LADIES DON'T
DO THAT....BECAUSE SHE WILL SHOW YOU LADIES CAN DO IT.....

ROBINS LOVE TO EAT FRUIT AND BERRIES AS WELL AS WORMS
AND CRICKETS. THANK YOU LADY PENNIWIG FOR SUCH A BEAUTIFUL
FRUIT GRAPHIC.

WHEN THE RED, RED ROBIN COMES

BOB...BOB...BOBBIN ALONG

A ROBIN IS PART OF THE THRUSH FAMILY.
THRUSH MEANS WANDERER.
I THINK ABOUT HOW GOD TELLS US TO GO TO THE HIGH-WAYS
AND THE BY-WAYS...IN THE HEDGES AND THE BUSHES....ALWAYS
LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO NEEDS TO HEAR THE GOOD NEWS OF
JESUS CHRIST.
THE SCRIPTURE SAYS TO SAVE A DEAD MAN WALKING, WHICH IS A
LOST SOUL, IS TO SAVE HIS SOUL FROM HELL.
I DON'T WANT TO SEE ANY ONE GO TO HELL....BUT NOW DAYS IT OFFENDS
PEOPLE IF YOU TALK ABOUT JESUS.....THEY WANT TO STAY AWAY
FROM YOU STATING, "SHE IS ONE OF THOSE."
I LOVE TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS....BUT MY HEART HAS BEEN GIVEN
TO JESUS.....WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT IMPRESSES UPON ME TO
POST ABOUT MY LORD AND SAVIOUR I WILL.

JESUS SAID, IF YOU ARE EMBARRASED OF ME HERE

I WILL DENY YOU TO MY FATHER

WHEN A NEST OR INDIVIDUAL ROBIN FEELS THREATENED
OR THERE IS DANGER, THEY SOUND THEIR WARNING CALL:
"PEEK! TUT TUT TUT TUT"
I THINK IF ONE OF US ARE IN TROUBLE, WE SHOULD POST:
"PEEK! TUT TUT TUT TUT
AND WE WOULD KNOW TO COME RUNNING AND CIRCLING THEM
WITH PRAYER
BARBARA FROM THE PURPLE GOAT SOUNDED THAT CALL
"PEEK! TUT TUT TUT TUT"
WHEN SHE ASKED ALL YOU FINE LADIES TO COME TO HER
BLOG AND WISH AMY A HAPPY BIRTHDAY. THAT SIMPLE GESTURE
THAT YOU TOOK TIME OUT FROM YOUR BUSY DAY TO WISH HER
A HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MEANT MORE TO HER THAN YOU WILL EVER
KNOW.
WHEN YOU HAVE A CHRONIC ILLNESS....SHALLOW FRIENDS DON'T
HANG AROUND. THE ONE TRUE FRIEND THAT STOOD BY HER
ENDED UP IN HER OWN BATTLE WITH CANCER....THAT IS LEILA
THAT YOU HAVE HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT.
GOD BLESS LEILA AND KEEP HER UNDER HIS WING LIKE
A MOTHER HEN KEEPS HER CHICKS.

I HAVE SOME PRAISE NEWS:
CORA FROM HIDDEN RICHES IN SECRET PLACES (I HOPE I HAVE HER
BLOG NAME RIGHT) HAD HER PET SCAN...CHECKING FOR THAT NASTY
TERRORIST CANCER...............
AND PRAISE GOD SHE IS CLEAR AND WITH TEARS STREAMING DOWN MY FACE
I PRAY TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST SHE REMAINS cancer FREE UNTIL THE
DAY SHE GOES HOME.....I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU CORA

  1. Hi Debbie,
I so enjoyed reading your post today. I love robins too for the simple fact that when they show up here, I know Spring has arrived and warm weather is on the way. You shared some wonderful pictures. After a long winter, the robin is a sign of hope in these parts. Even more important than the robin, is the Lord Jesus who gives us hope to keep hanging in there when all around us things have gone haywire. He is our Hope and our Song! Thanks for sharing today; in the midst of your pain, you have been an encourager. Have a lovely day, my friend.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  4. Hi Debbie,
I'm back again. I appreciate your prayers for Jordan. Also, I just got word that my mother was rushed to hospital with what they think is a burst anurysm in her stomach. That's all I know at this point.
I would be honoured for you to take the graphic and post it on your blog! Scripture is meant to be shared.
And those little buttercups are wild, so there are no seeds. They are God's little posies growing wild along the back of our home for my enjoyment!
Have a wonderful day and thanks for your nice visit!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  6. "Cheerily cheer up cheer up cheerily cheer up"

    Thank'ee, debbie. I needed that.

What a beautiful post. And it sends chills down my spine, because I have lived in West Texas for 7 years, and this is the FIRST YEAR we have had our old friends the robins not only visit, but STAY. I never get tired of looking at them and have the kind of bird seed-bell they enjoy hanging up at all times. I think they are pulling the raisins out of it and leaving the rest for the littler birds.

For 7 years I would sadly say to my hubby, "Well, it isn't spring without robins" and then here they came and here is yr post.

I am a wanderer too but now I don't feel so bad about it! I have the Thrush family to keep me company!

My thoughts are with Amy and Leila and now also with blogger Sandi's mom, how terrible to get that shocking news of one's mother rushed to the hospital. I am glad I read the comments carefully and saw her remark.

There are many tears in this world and I thank you more than you can know for your kindness and goodness in sharing your strength and hope with others, you who are fighting in a frightening battle but who always takes time to lend a hand to others.

What a special person you are!!!

  7. Oh Girl! You do not know how far that girdle flew today. It was plumb scareeyyyyy. Thank God it is Friday. I loved, loved, the post. Oh my gosh, I know that frog was silently meant for me. Thank you. You know how your little sis loves the frogs. I guess I am a little oddity with things that I like, but then God made us all a little different. We would be so boring if we were just alike. The Robins are so beautiful. We used to so wonder in awe at them in the sprinklers didn't we? Those were such wonderful days. My how the time has flown, and now I am watching my grandkids in the sprinklers. One of these days I am going to throw caution to the wind, and run right out there and join in. Wouldn't that be a hoot? Oh Sis, thanks for the memory of Aunt Merle, as I had forgotten that. Girls aren't supposed to whistle? Like you said I whistle every day of my life. Thanks so much for sharing on this beautiful Friday morning. I love you so much my precious Sister. I will love you forever and to eternity. All my love, Sherry

  16. I agree with the "big hug" regarding comments! They do brighten up my day as well. Am glad Amy had fun reading all her birthday wishes. Hope the doctor's visit went well. And I loved your post today regarding witnessing and reaching out to others. Even though people often get offended it's still what we are called to do. Which is what you do every time you write a post! You share the love of Jesus with all of us and you never know...someone may be reading of His love for the first time on your blog. Enjoy your day!
